I’ve gotten into a habit of listening to your videos before bed. The stories are great and your voice is calm and soothing even though you’re talking about chaos gods invading peoples minds, billions of people burned alive or virus bombed, Orkz having a grand old time etc. How you tell the stories of the 40K universe is just something I like and helps me nod off to sleep.

My absolute favorite race in the entire setting. You can kill them, you can even on occasion actually rid a planet of them, but they cannot be truly defeated. You just have to love the only guys in the galaxy to barrel screaming into the Eye of Terror looking for a good scrap.

Personally, I'd be fascinated to see a game or animation set in Mektown. There's something novel in the idea of observing the day-to-day lives of Orks in a settlement, especially one as established as this one.

Same. Could have Mount and Blade-style mechanics for building up a crew of your own, customizing vehicles for venturing outside in search of loot or gits to krump, returning to Mektown to just chill out with your Ork bros... I'd play that.

I just started watching luetin's lore videos like a month ago. Ive watched almost all of them, this is a nice suprise.

just realized that I need a Mad Max style game about GorkaMorka where you can build your reputation as an lowly boi all the way to a boss with big vehicles, guns and a army system like Shadow of Mordor(and lots of loud musics of course).

The Emperor Provides!!! I just completed your Orkz videos yesterday including the first part of this story and desperately wanted more. The way you narrate the battle in the Gray Knights second part video is a pitch for a Dope 40K movie. With something like that it really boggles the mind how GW can’t get 40K multimedia.
I would pay good money to see that battle animated, or would a live action be possible?

I don't see live action happening for 40k, imagine the budget you would need to make the movie half decent, then think about how badly they would screw up the lore that's right in front of them
@@jake3040 Exactly, it'd need Marvel/Star Wars levels of budget for live action and is almost guaranteed to not make as much money back.
@@ItMakesYouWonder0 They could do smaller scale stories as a series, that focus around an inquisitor, or trader. I mean, Netflix did pretty good with The Witcher as a Series that includes fantasy species.
and even though the story was bad, Netflix also had that will smith movie with fairy's and orcs that looked good
So it's definitely possible, at least visually, from a company like Netflix or Amazon. They just need the right director and work with one of the good 40k authors to write a script.
This man has literally changed countless lives for the better, and thats no exaggeration. How many people have discovered a vast and fascinating fictional universe, or a new favorite genre of fiction, a future passion, an unrealized artistic talent, a new circle of friends, or even just a simple but invaluable source of joy, thanks to Luetin?

I was new to 40k in 2020 when a friend had been telling me about it and saying I'd really like it. I knew I'd need a base understanding of the lore to fully enjoy amd appreciate the audiobooks I planned to consume (horus heresy) and I came to Luetin. No better place, in under a month I had a very good understanding of the history of the imperium and 2 years later after continuing to soak in lore from this channel and 14 books read I am a full on 40k fan. Thanks mate.

I listened to the audible recommendation not long ago and I loved it! As a Necron main it was so cool to see another audiobook dive deep into the culture and politics of Necron and Necrontyr society
I have ADD and cant usually pay attention to dense videos with lots of information unless I speed it to 2X speed (ADD brains need lots of stimulation to stay engaged). Luckily, your voice is one of the clearest and most pleasant 2X speed voices Ive come across on youtube. Idk what you're doing, but keep it up please

Man these are amazing. Never played, or even seen 40k be played, but I've been obsessively watching these. It's like a deeply detailed story instead of just lore.
Oh I just can't help myself but love Orks for everything they are. We should all aspire to be a little bit like them with how stoically they approach literally anything that 40k universe throws at them. Thank you very much for another great story Luetin09.

every once in a while i remember that there is no one on this earth that can see and appreciate the serious and darker parts about ork lore. no one would ever want a story that goes any deeper than "haha red goes fasta waaaagh" and i found out that people are very bewildered whenever i bring up the topic...

Your channel was suggested by another Warhammer channel. I love your presentations! Just goes to show how immersive even ORK lore can be! It would be interesting if the Imperium ever gets back on it's feet and starts to take world's back from their enemies! That would be neat: An Astartes spearhead gaining control of the planet Angeles and then turning the Orks there into laborers for the Imperium while having scientists try to terraform the planet into something humans can live on. Would it be outright slavery? No, the Imperium would pay the Orks with scrap and use the "Ork bosses" to keep Mechtown quiet. Just an idea. Anyone think this would work?
-So horrifying that only Astartes in Terminator armor will go into a Space Hulk
-it's basically an Ork party bus and they fight to get onboard
I love the Orks in this universe.
I like that even in ork culture where it is mostly a fight for who is the strongest there are some who just go "Do you know what´s missing here? A bar!" and they will just start building a tavern and start brewing fungus ale. And why? Well, you got to have a place to drink.
Also Luetin´s book recommendation meshes well with the Adeptus Ridiculous book club who are also covering the Twice Dead King books.

Thoroughly enjoyable this video and the whole Warhammer concept of orks . I'm new to Warhammer in general so I find this version of orks to be the coolest thus far.
As a possible suggestion, I believe a video about the different ork klanz would be quite popular and informative.

I remember being at the Golden Demon when they released this game!! They had half the NEC chanting gorka and the other half morka... one of the best memories I have.. thanks for dredging this one up from the depths of my brain :)

GorkaMorka was an ace game, though I'm guessing it didn't make GW loads of money as most vehicles, scenery etc was all prime for kit bashing.

The flashbacks are strong here. I remember heading to my local GW to play Gorkamorka (when is was the new thing) back when I was still a teenager. I wonder if I still have the miniatures somewhere.

The story of Gork & Mork sounds so so sadly familiar
My last 40K army was my first Ork army. My games store had a lot of players who had been around since the game first came to the states, and they took everything way too seriously. So I "roleplayed," my Ork army. No tactics, I rolled a D6 to pick which list I would use for the match, didn't worry about what I got or what they were bringing, and just threw the army across the board in whichever direction had something that wasn't dead yet.
I think I won maybe 1 match out of 10 or 20, if that, and I had more fun with that army than any other. If I ever go back to playing 40K again, I'll be bringin da boyz.

I must say, i really enjoy the janky orky side of 40k more than the totalitarian fanatical imperial pov. But overall by far my favourite scifi lore to delve into.

With a voice like butter, leutin has to be the best channel on YT when you want to relax. Pro-tip: put on some headphones and listen to leutins angel like voice when falling asleep. Preferably a video with orcs like this one, he allways has a humorous tone when talking about the orcs way.

Luetin- I knew very little about Warhammer but thanks to your in depth history and lore of everything Warhammer I am becoming a huge fan and absolutely scrape up any detail relating to Orks and Tyranids
I finished " the twice dead king : ruin" a few days ago and it's one of my favorite 40k books and i can't wait to hear you talk about it.
Where do I start with 40k books?
@@darthdrynn8057 if you already have basic knowledge on the universe of warhammer 40k. Meaning you know all the factions and a bit of their history and stories. Then you can start with any short story or novel of your basic faction
@@darthdrynn8057 for me i started with short stories about the space marines and some primachs. But my first books were necrons " the infinite and the Devine" but i would actually think " the twice dead king" is a great book to start with
@@darthdrynn8057 but like i said you can start where ever you want Just make sure you pick books that doesn't have too much information about multiple factions. Like the horus Hersey books or dark imperium. But pick books that focuses on one particular faction like for the imperium i suggest " gaunts ghosts" or " caiphus cain" or the ultramarines series

I am convinced, for no reason beyond gut feeling, that the writers originally wanted to call the town Mekka, but were not allowed.
Hey mate, another gem of a video, just want to say how much I am enjoying your amazing videos. So well researched, so well scripted, produced and booth interesting and engaging. You have a talent and thank you for sharing it and your extensive knowledge with us. About 2-3 times I tried to get into WH40k in my early teens. I LOVED the imagery and idea and lore but both it is an expensive hobby(for some reason especially in Dublin in the late 90s) and tbh I SUCKED (probably still do) at painting! I got a few starter kits and tried to mess with Ultranarines and Chaos Marines but seeing the incredible figures professionally painted and AMAZING set pieces and scenery made in GW I was just really put off.
Anyway recently for some reason I stumbled on a page for a Tesseract Vault and being enthralled by the lore and of course clicking on links and links with the wiki. It was your exquisitely horrifying descriptions in the first worst jobs video that got me hooked. I have a degree in English (shock horror, an Irish man studying the filthy language of the enemy! 😂) and often do free lance work editing and even writing technical pieces and instructions and your flow, your descriptive work and kick start to the imagination is absolutely 👌 mate. Seriously you write a hell of a lot better than many a 'professional' who I come across and have to edit. And like you said, imagination is the key to WH.
When you described the refuelling process I was just blown away. Since I was a kid, frightened by the iodine tablets the Irish government gave us all on the East Coast in the event that Sellafield was attacked and then my trips to the library reading about Chernobyl (an Irish charity has done so much for the kids suffering there and seeing the children who are suffering from effects of that tragedy is something in our cultural memory... Often families would take these poor kids in for a few weeks a year and spoil them rotten) and radiation sickness, Hiroshima&Nagasaki etc I have been fascinated and horrified by radiation so the description of the funeral march, flesh and muscle burning away, the pure horror of it... All to fuel a ship... Wow. Wow.

Awesome, awesome video. I've always thought The Orks were an amazing piece of satire for English culture. The surface of English culture is ironclad when it comes to being civilized and not governed by emotions. Meanwhile, we all live in bodies that are essentially the same as cavemen. Those instincts are constantly at war with a civilized consciousness and they govern FAR more than anyone cares to admit. Here we see people who are in harmony with it. Orks act a lot like we do and are just as successful, of not more successful than their human counterparts who think they're so above it all. I love it!
