just a nitpick but if the bulls were playing--especially against the Knicks AND Bob was the studio host--it would be covered by Ahmad, Marv and fratello/guokas. :P Gumbel, Walton and Jones were always B team although I kinda wish Snapper was put on the finals broadcasts back then because he had the best color commentary voice in the biz back then.
I think all the sports leagues and the TV coverage was better back in the day. MLB, NHL, and NFL too. Maybe it's just the nostalgia cuz I'll be 37 this year

Can't top that. That's like retiring a champion.
When I here this I think of my knicks, Ewing , Mason, Oakley, Starks, on the run in 94 Ewing slamming the ball off the miss shot, and who could forget Oj Chase, I get goosebumps thinking of the good all days go knicks!!
Reminds me of the days of my Pacers taking on your Knicks at MSG and Spike Lee at his courtside seat getting mad at Reggie Miller for popping another clutch shot

As well as CNBC and USA (only for postseason NHL playoffs). As well as Notre Dame College Football on NBC as well as the French Open tennis tournament.
@@downnice95 NHL ratings on ESPN were actually lower than filler shows as was shown during the 2004-'05 lockout. NBC/NBCSN has really built up the NHL but the NHL really needs the Rangers and Kings to be playing for the Stanley Cup virtually every year to build the ratings as there are many people who don't follow sports who will watch ANYTHING that is New York vs. LA (or in their minds, "Broadway vs. Hollywood"). NBA really needs to have the same thing happen with the Knicks and Lakers (with or without LeBron) playing every year in the Finals or the ratings could drop.
90’s was the golden era for sports hands down. No one fought over each other’s politics and virtue signaled every day on social media. We were all unified in just enjoying sports with each other. I feel for kids now a days who don’t know anything other than being forced to pick a side every day in everything you do and everything being constantly toxic, it wasn’t always like it is today.
Sportswise it was the best. But today the players are united against racial inequality and racism, it's not political but humanitarian.If you are against that there is something deeply wrong with you.
If you think there were no politics in sports at literally *any* point in American history, you're completely wrong, like to an astounding, "how could one even fathom this" level.

those games in phoenix specifically are my favorite from the first threepeat and possibly my favorite overall in the dynasty outside perhaps the 1997 finals...those suns were my favorite opponent the bulls had.
