Barns just has this style that blends so many different influences from the musical timeline that it would be hard to place to the uninitiated. It has a nostalgic sound to it. But also sounds like something new. It's energetic, yet you can listen to it when relaxed. Also love the callback to Good Thing
I honestly cannot put my finger on the reason... but everything this guy does has me going nuts. There's similar stuff that does nothing for me, but I catch myself mumbling BC songs when I wake up in the morning. If everyone was me, he'd be the biggest act on the planet.
It's his "live life as big as u can" attitude. It comes through in his music and u can see it in interviews and performances. Then u add in his sense of humor, and that he's hot as hell, and u have perfection. And yes, he should be the biggest act on the planet!
As an independent filmmaker, I felt it in my soul when the cops interrupted and they just continued filming haha, as a marketing manager - the guerilla marketing for this was genius, and as a Barns Courtney fan, well i'm biased, I was going to like this video either way. Also I hope the people running this account see that comment about Barns being on top of the car instead of chasing it finally with someone else saying "maybe one day he'll be inside the car" and it becomes a run-on joke for his music videos somehow now lolol
Saw him open for The Struts in Austin,Tx at Stubbs. He opened with this song. Was standing in line when he walked across the street from his hotel. He came over and took some pix with us before getting on his tour bus. Was wearing a leather jacket and pants. Which was a bad choice considering it was about 95’ with 50% humidity. By the end of his set he was just in his boxers and walking through the crowd. Was an incredible show! Have yet to hear a song from him that I don’t like. Machine Gun Sun is crazy good.
Damn! I've been a huge fan for a while, this video is awesome! I love the random pedestrians who were following along. This has such a feel of authenticity so many music videos these days lack. Not that they're bad, but this is what music is about.
