I was at the Tokyo (Saitama day two) performance of this concert and would you believe, they performed in suits and ties from start to finish...all you can hear from Taka was " It's sooo hot"...LOL I hope some day soon, you will see them live, too. Stand Out Fit In specifically. Helped me though so damn much. For some context. I was born with several physical disabilities. Growing up and even into my adult life I struggled with identity issues I struggled accepting these things as a part of myself. I was severely bullied in high school just for being disabled.Something I can’t change! When stand out fit in came out it helped me accept my disabilities as a part of myself. And not feel shame. I’m 23 now I have had the song lyrics tattooed since 2019. I feel like sometimes it can sound cheesy to say a band or a song changed your life, but literally One OK Rock songs have encouraged and inspired me to do so many things I was afraid to do. If I ever feel like I'm having a hard time starting something or feeling like I can't do something I listen to their song Wasted Nights, so I'd recommend that one for sure! I think I saw someone else suggest it live from the Eye of the Storm tour, so I'll second that! Congrats on the shout out! Second time asking for “Be the light” lol Also if you’re interested or don’t mind lyrics being in Japanese, I would recommend “Kimishidai Ressha”, “Ketsuraku Automation” and the 2018 dome tour version of “Naihishinsho”. They’re older songs but the lyrics are fantastic. Another one would be “Nobody’s home” if you’d like to understand a bit more of Taka since it’s written for his parents who are famous singers and “69” is something really different but still slaps and has some great lyrics but these are all in Japanese so you would have to find the translations. I was fortunate enough to see OOR live in Cleveland a couple nights ago. Can confirm, they are even better live. Props not only to the band, but the sound engineers for making sure every sound worked together in perfect harmony.

Congrats on getting noticed by the band! Fun tidbit about this performance is that at the very beginning, Taka actually flubbed the lyrics. (They edited the audio for the release.) That's why the camera pans out. You can see Taka looking over at Toru and then Toru is seen laughing. He's laughing at Taka for messing up😬 I wasn't at this specific concert in Osaka but I saw them on this tour at their performance in Tokyo. There were only 4 total performances so tickets were really limited but I got lucky😊 At the one I went to, they performed the entire concert in suits. It was great. I suggest you also check out the music video for this. It complements the song and its message very well.
I have attended One Ok Rock's concert and they are even better live! The music, Taka's voice, the instruments, the band's energy! Everything is so good! I recommend you try to go see them live. I think they are starting their tour again this year.

Their songs really are meaningful. You would expect that with slow ballads but not on a rockband, and they nailed it. This is my fave. I also love the music video because it tells a beautiful story. Agree with you about the message in this song. I love how they use all the opposites that people tell you. “Shoot low, aim high, … eat up, stay thin… stand out, fit in.” I feel like a lot of people identify with that. In fact, the song became super popular because a member of a Korean boy band shared it as one of his faves. Congrats on the comment from the band.
Stand Out, Fit In was the first song I heard from them. His voice is really special. I also had the same reaction when I heard „Car Radio” from twenty one pilots. I highly recommend it for you. Actually the whole band. They are very close to their fanbase too, and they are so real. Idk if you know them, like more than just the mainstream surface. Watching people fall in love with them honestly warms my heart so much. Just a little story but when I first heard and fell in love with OOR I was in middle school. The problem was that this was 2008 so cringe culture was strong and anything Japanese was related to weeb culture, AND I'm an immigrant kid still working on that assimilation thing. Anyways, kept up with their music but not them and years later, while I was in college, this song and album came out where I cried like a baby because of how much this song hit me then I randomly see a flier saying they were playing in my city. I obviously went and I cried a lot because it was so much of my formative years so close to me and I will never forget it. The passion, the energy, it was all there even after all these years. And Keep It Real will always send me on a nostalgia binge.

I wish this band was in my life back when i was a teenager. I struggled a lot with bullies back then and did a lot of changes to my life just to try fit in. Dropping things i was good at, picking up things i was bad at just because it was what everyone else did... so regret it now looking back. Who knows, maybe OOR wouldve given me the strength to stand up for myself and carve my own path. I know now atleast that i really regret i dont have those skills i stopped nurturing back then.

I wasn't at this specific concert in Osaka but I saw them on this tour at their performance in Tokyo. There were only 4 total performances so tickets were really limited but I got lucky😊 At the one I went to, they performed the entire concert in suits. It was great.
I suggest you also check out the music video for this. It complements the song and its message very well.
I have attended One Ok Rock's concert and they are even better live! The music, Taka's voice, the instruments, the band's energy! Everything is so good! I recommend you try to go see them live. I think they are starting their tour again this year.

I wasn't there, but I've been to 4-5 of their concerts here in the US! I go every time they're in town haha. You gotta go whenever they play in the UK. Looking forward to more One Ok Rock reactions!

One ok Rock has been a huge part of my life, since 2013. I found them through the song "The Beginning" after the passing of my grandmother. I've been listening to them everyday since then. To see your reactions to their music makes me smile and I adore seeing new faces be inspired by them.

Their songs really are meaningful. You would expect that with slow ballads but not on a rockband, and they nailed it. This is my fave. I also love the music video because it tells a beautiful story. Agree with you about the message in this song. I love how they use all the opposites that people tell you. “Shoot low, aim high, … eat up, stay thin… stand out, fit in.” I feel like a lot of people identify with that. In fact, the song became super popular because a member of a Korean boy band shared it as one of his faves.

Stand Out, Fit In was the first song I heard from them. His voice is really special. I also had the same reaction when I heard „Car Radio” from twenty one pilots. I highly recommend it for you. Actually the whole band. They are very close to their fanbase too, and they are so real. Idk if you know them, like more than just the mainstream surface. Their songs all have deep, inspiring messages, that make you think. And the story/world behind them is so mindblowing (but no more spoilers :))), this band is just a whole rabbit hole :)))) )
Omg I'm so happy you watched this! I have been a fan of OOK since I was in high school and I love so many of their songs because of how versatile their music always is but I remember when this song came out and I just cried for hours listening to it.

Watching people fall in love with them honestly warms my heart so much. Just a little story but when I first heard and fell in love with OOR I was in middle school. The problem was that this was 2008 so cringe culture was strong and anything Japanese was related to weeb culture, AND I'm an immigrant kid still working on that assimilation thing. Anyways, kept up with their music but not them and years later, while I was in college, this song and album came out where I cried like a baby because of how much this song hit me then I randomly see a flier saying they were playing in my city. I obviously went and I cried a lot because it was so much of my formative years so close to me and I will never forget it. The passion, the energy, it was all there even after all these years. And Keep It Real will always send me on a nostalgia binge.

I wish this band was in my life back when i was a teenager. I struggled a lot with bullies back then and did a lot of changes to my life just to try fit in.
Dropping things i was good at, picking up things i was bad at just because it was what everyone else did... so regret it now looking back.
Who knows, maybe OOR wouldve given me the strength to stand up for myself and carve my own path.
I know now atleast that i really regret i dont have those skills i stopped nurturing back then.

I've seen them live in Hungary.. they are amazing....
I un fortunately not there when they preformed but when I was stressed and depressed during the COVID pandemic this song helped me loss some of the stress and made me feel a little bit better with myself

If you haven't done I Was King from the Orchestra Tour I can say you are absolutely missing out. It is the one of the songs that the addition of the orchestra really changed.
