As-salaamu Alaykum brother, this is how I understood 1/46. Please correct me if I am wrong. So seeing true dreams for 6 months is 1/46 of Prohethood. 1/46 equals to 0.0217391304 as a number. Our Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him said this during his prophethood. We know the Qur'an/revelation was over 23 years. So if you take 6 months (half a year) of true dreams in years you have 0.5/23 years which also equals 0.0217391304 or 1/46, the exact same fraction Subhan'Allah.

BEGINNING OF THE REVELATION (PART 2: See ONE MESSAGE FOUNDATION for PART 1) [21:19] Hadith on ways to taste the sweetness of Iman Prophet ﷺ in a Sahih Hadith as narrated by Anas RA said that if you want to taste the sweetness of Iman, have these three things: 1. Have love of Allah and His messenger ﷺ more than anyone else (so follow his sunnah) 2. Loving a slave of Allah for no other reason except for Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى 3. You hate to go back to your days of jahiliyya like you would hate to be thrown in the fire. The days of jahiliyya refer to when whether you were ignorant, a non-Muslim or just weren't taking your religion seriously, or if you were never in that stage then you at least hated when it represented. Some examples of jahiliyya include misguided Muslims making dua for dead pagans, praising a fasiq/fajir. How can you praise someone who makes shirk with Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى? Shaykh gave an example of a mufti who he went to for proofreading a book Shaykh wrote on the issue of Rafa-ul-yadain (raising on the hands in salah), specifically the 2nd (made when going into ruku) and 3rd (made when getting up from ruku) Rafa-ul-yadain. Unfortunately this mufti tried to disregard the Hadith found in Sahih Al-Bukhari where Prophet ﷺ was doing Rafa-ul-yadain. The mufti said that Prophet ﷺ was in fact swatting a fly which Omar RA mistook him for doing Rafa-ul-yadain. How terrible is this?! Is this the khushu of a salah of our Prophet ﷺ that he would be swatting flies in the prayer?? Shaykh mentioned another speaker who made up a Hadith where he claimed that a sahaba was jealous of his wife's salah at home so he would poke her while she would be praying. Astakhfirullah, this Hadith is nowhere to be found. Others have done similar things for example to justify men and women shaking hands when there is a clear Sahih Hadith where Prophet ﷺ said that it is better for you to have a burning coal put in your hand rather than you touching the hand of a non-mahram woman. All these are examples of the weakness of Iman. [30:54] Dreams as a part of revelation 4. Prophet ﷺ started to see dreams 6 months prior to Jibreel AS bringing a wahi in the cave of Hira. This is mentioned in Sahih Al-Bukhari by Prophet ﷺ and Aisha RA. These dreams were such that they would come true as they were. The riwaya in Jami'-al-Tirmidhi mentioned that they would be like the clear morning. It means that those 6 months where Rasulullah ﷺ would see a dream were a part of wahi, so the wahi actually began before Jibreel AS started coming. [32:08] Types of dreams Per a Sahih Hadith in Ibn Majah, number 3907, Rasullulah ﷺ said that dreams are of 3 types: 1. Dreams from the tricks of Shaytaan. Someone asked Hasan al-Basri if Shaytaan slept. He replied that if Shaytan slept then we would get a break. So even when you are sleeping, shaytaan is coming in your dreams and whispering to you. These can include dreams making you develop likeness for some haram, making you sad, requiring you to do a ghusul etc. 2. Dreams from the confused thoughts of Insaan. These include whatever you saw that day or had though of etc. 3. Dreams from Allah that are a part of wahi. [33:45] Proof Sunnah of Rasulullah ﷺ is from Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى In one Hadith narrated by Ibn Majah, Prophet ﷺ told us that his dreams were 1/46th of the wahi. Rasulullah ﷺ told us this Hadith during his lifetime when nubuwwah hadn't finished, meaning the whole Quran hadn't been reveled yet. So when the scholars mention that the nubuwwah of Prophet ﷺ was 23 years, this includes the 6 months where Prophet ﷺ had dreams BEFORE Jibreel AS starting bringing the revelation down to him. So if you take 6 months and calculate it out of what percentage is that from 23 years, it comes out to be 1/46th. This Hadith is a miracle in itself because Prophet ﷺ said this Hadith before those 23 years were over. If he wasn't a true Prophet and if this Hadith/sunnah wasn't from Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى, then how would he ﷺ have known how long the wahi would last? He simply wound't have known. This not only shows you a miracle of Prophet ﷺ but also shows you that the sunnah is in fact from Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى. (Convert 23 years into months = 23 years x 12 months = 276 months. 6 months /276 months = 0.02173913 which is = 1/46) At this time Prophet ﷺ was 40 years, 6 months and 12 days of age per the lunar calendar or 39 years, 3 months and 22 days per solar calendar as is mentioned in Ar-raheeq al-makhtum by Mubarakpuri.
