would this cage be compatible with the old panasonic S5; the new cages are way better so would be cool if they were backwards compatible.(from the videos I've watched they look basically the same).
According to Tilta both side and top are supposed to be NATO compatible to attach handles. What if you don't slide it on from the bottom but open the clamp of the grip wide enough? Unfortunately you made a cut at that exact moment but it seems like you were trying to slide it on from the bottom which obviously doesn't work with this cage.
No, they are not Nato compatible, Tilta was either talking about the ability to add Nato attachments or there is some new kind of mounting system similar to Nato that Tilta is using. Not sure. But the half cage in this video does not work with Nato clamps. If you don't believe me, buy the half cage and see for yourself. Maybe I got an early model and Tilta has since updated their design.
@@VideoGizmology I actually bought it and you’re absolutely right. NATO accessories don’t fit without an additional plate. Like you said in the video this really is a missed opportunity. And also questionable marketing. I’m still going to keep it since I like the half cage and I’m mostly going to use it standard handheld or in a gimbal but might buy the plates if feel the need for a handle in the future.
Get a grinder and mod the NATO rail in. For £45 off Amazon I'd do it. If it was a £150 plus price tag I'd just send it back but £45 is worth a MOD to have it just the way you want it. I'd also cut off the bit that goes around the battery door. It doesn't need to be there.
You do not attach the cable clamp for the review???!!! Really?! 😀😀😀

No, this cage only works for the S5 II and S5 IIX
The lack of nato is dumb becuase that top section could still have those mounting points whilst also being a nato rail.

The person on Amazon who left a review is right.
