I hated the original Nihilanth fight but I do miss the verticality. There was nothing quite like jumping right into his exposed brain and finishing him off with snarks and a crowbar.

The soundtrack for Gonarch fight is just amazing, making it one of the most legendary boss fights I’ve ever played. Besides, I always think the scenes of alien beasts fighting intelligent ones really lack in both HL and Black Mesa, it could have made the game even more thrilling

Hm.. Try putting everything on low graphic settings and on the lowest resolution possible. The graphics might look terrible, but it's totally worth it for a good game.
tentacles, gonarch and nihilanth are the worst BECAUSE you never know if you are really damaging them until they die....first time i played HL i wasted all my ammo and explosives on tentacles, tried it again and again and again..maybe 3 hrs til i found the trick...after that, i figured gonarch and nihilanth had some sort of tricky way also
@@marktan9613 Yeah, but Black Mesa did improve on averting too awesome to use. They gave us the infinite radiation ammo moments in Xen, and made the ammo for it plentiful in the final fight. I don't think I ever touched it after the "firing range" in the original half life.

I feel like they didn't need to drag the fuck out of the Gonarch fight, and the Nihilanth fight was somehow even worse than the original for turning the arena into some sort of shit-tornado.
