I originally played this on a PS2, before even going in I already knew it was gonna be a "second class" experience, but I didn't have money for a new console and really wanted to play the last game on the trilogy. Eventually when I got a 360 I played it again properly, and now years and years later I've been thinking about replaying it on steam now that I've finally got around to finishing the newer games.
Playing this game at the time was when I realized I had an outdated video game console, and I'd never experience a true masterpiece released for the PS2 from then on. PS2 games became a bunch of cheaper, worse versions of their PS3 counterparts. Just cheap cashgrabs for the poor kids while your rich cousing played the newly released Halo 3 and GTA IV
The one where the girls turn into weapons is "Valkyrie-Drive: Mermaid", and the other one is "Shinmai Maou no Testament". Now go forth, friend, and promise to _NEVER_ watch anime dubbed.

Meanwhile, Primal showcased in 2003 that Underworld had no reason what so ever to look that bad on PS2.
Even Anniversary and Legend look better and didn't have weird gameplay simplificiations like infinite ammo and regenerating health.
