It was my pleasure to bring this to you. Although I enjoyed hearing this the first time, my appreciation for it grew over time and it's one of my favorites. Thanks again as always!
We lost George Gershwin way too soon from a brain tumor at age 39 in 1938. I keep trying to imagine what he might have written in songs, musicals and modern jazz flavored classical music. He work in piano pieces is nothgin short of beautiful and majestic. I NEVER get tired of his Paino Concerto in F. one can always tire of Rhapsody in BLue and leave it for a while, but this is immaculate, exciting, and of the human spirit. Wang Yuja isprobably amoing the top 10 pianists in the world if not number one. And she's got this permanent smile on her face!
Lucie, I just love the way Yuja plays Gershwin with such fluidity and playfulness. I’m so happy you featured her on your channel. I know of others out here that will take the time to hear and enjoy this remarkable flamboyant pianist’s interpretation of Gershwin. Thank you Lucie😃🎶
Lucie, keep listening to Yuja and you will fall down the rabbit hole for sure! Listen to her recordings of the Rachmaninoff piano concerti or the Prokofiev 2nd and 3rd! I’m 80 and a composer-jazz pianist, but as a musician for over 65 years, I’ve heard many great pianist: in my humble opinion, Yuja’s the greatest of our generation! Her unmatched technique together with her sensitivity and emotional expression create the finest artistic creations! Simply put, Yuja is a beast!
