I'm shocked this band isn't more popular than it is. Incredible stuff.
I actually think they're the most underrated band of this century.
It's shocking and quite unfair, this amazing band deserves so much more recognition
If I recall correctly, weren’t they in a position to go mainstream but turned it down because they wanted to make their music the exact way they want no contest. It is an incredibly noble move, and if all artists did this and collected their own money, the industry that uses these cheap tactics won’t have the money or power to stop it abymore. This IS a rarity though, because when you are offered deals, the deals are almost impossible to pass up for us normal people looking to become one of the greats. So much money you simply can’t refuse. But then there’s the contract. The part where your signature sells your free will away until they decide you are too fat to be acceptable or they are done with you and your style. I’m absolutely sure if what I heard was true and they turned it down, they made a lucky choice, because before they hand you your contract and you’re a pretty girl, you may be asked to perform some unsavory and sexual favors. Do them and you’re in.

I saw them in Seattle on Oct 12, 2022 and hadn't heard Cascades before ever yet when I heard it live it became one of my favorite of Metric's songs!
the guitar sounds louder than studio version and makes the song rooccks!
This song had the first meaningful electronica solo I've ever heard. Using the guitar live was amazing.
