Those of you wanting Zigu to truly get with the king are weird. Her behavior is extremely childlike, the king has been ruling for 35 years, so is likely in his mid 50s at least, with two adult sons who seem in their 30s. The king is way too old for Zigu, she is extremely immature and not ready for marriage. You really want a girl with childlike innocence to get with an old man? Ugh. Plus, you see how mature and elegant his official main wife, the Noble Consort, is. The king already has a wife suitable for him. To be honest, Zigu should have never been forced to marry him in the first place. **Spoilers ahead for this episode** Poor Shumo and Yue Qin. I like Yue Qin a lot, he seems genuinely gentle and caring. It sucks he lost his attendant and best friend to poison. I guess it was something that not even red coix seeds could cure, which is interesting, as they would've cured Mei Lin's supposedly incurable poison if she had a stronger constitution. It's surprising they wouldn't work for whatever killed Shumo. I guess he just had to die for plot reasons.

Supposedly there is a second prince between the crown prince and the third prince, Jinghe, but nothing has ever been said about a second prince. The king probably just made that deal because he's secretly an old lech. Even if he isn't, at this stage Zigu is clearly mentally too young to be a wife, she should stay innocent for several/many years at least. Honestly I just hate the whole harem system in these dramas, it's just a means to subjugate and abuse women. Remember, they have no choice in the matter.

Lin shu and Prince jing I wish we could have seen a similar strong friendship between general yin and jinghe but nooo They made the cliche romance trope again. I am so tired of that. This could have been a brilliant story of faith and perseverance in true brotherhood and sisterhood
