    Why we don't measure weight of sand in calibrating cylinder directly?

      If we do so , it will become difficult to calculate the weight of sand filled in the ground surface hole.

      So we will fail to calculate the volume of that hole i.e. volume of excavated soil.
      & if we don't have volume of soil
      We cannot calculate it's unit weight.

    In this video
    For the sand we calculated W1, W2 & W3
    For the field sand we calculated WN1&WN2 only and we didn't calculate WN3 for this
    The formula for W(pouring) =WN1-WN2-W3
    Do we need to consider the first calculated W3 for W(pouring)
    and if so what was the reason for that and why can't we calculate WN3 and why can't we use in W(Pouring) formula..
