Knew Stacy, went on a mission trip with her around 3 years after. A bunch of us girls sat around kind of talking about it one night. She seemed very genuine and stood by her story. She did add she remembered something about flowers in relation to the shooter, be that flowers in the wood work on the gun or flowers on his shirt. She wasn't sure. She said she had a mental block. But she 100% believed her brother did not do it. I believe her. I'm not sure if she has changed her stance on that or not. I pray she is doing well and is at peace with the situation...She was a very sweet genuine girl at that time.
I went to riverside I just graduated this year. I’ve lived in Logan county almost my whole life. My grandpa has always told me that the sheriffs dept use to have a ton of crooked activity going on in cover cases up for there own fellow deputies. This isn’t the first time a sketchy case has come by. Paul Harvey even said if you want to commit a crime come to logan county Ohio. My grandpa is friends with Scott’s dad . Paige harshbargers father has even ref’d my football games. I go to school with the cousins of her. This case is very relevant to me, I didn’t know the Victims involved but I personally don’t believe Scott did this. Nor do I know anyone who believes he did. With all of the scandals that went on in that time with the sheriffs dept . I just can’t put it past them.
I've lived in Logan County all my life and live 20 minutes from where this happened. This has been a huge local mystery and I've been so enthralled with this for ever.
This reminds me of the Chris Porco case. Another very interesting case i recommend watching. In that case the mother said in the ambulance that her son did it. Later she believed he didn't do it and even supported him in court.
If I am not mistaken another person saw someone near the house that fit the same description that Stacy gave. I believe they said the man was walking across a field near the home with a rifle, blue shirt, older man.
Would be intrested in knowing the age of the gun found, a close relative used to work on this farm during their employment there it was common knowledge a 22 caliber rifle was kept in the barn.
Wasn't uncommon a few years ago to have such an age discrepancy. People have a fit about it now, but it used to be a fairly ordinary occurrence. Some parents would actually think an older male teen was more mature, and a better and safer date for the young girl. That they were having sex was NOT necessarily assumed, especially in a more traditional-minded and conservative community. Seriously. Different times. In the 1970s, when I was 15, I went out with a 19 year old who had a job on the railroad. My parents liked him and trusted him. We weren't having sex. I was nowhere near ready for that and knew my own mind. I usually dated guys a few years older because I had an intellect that had little in common with people my own age. I liked being with people who had something to teach me, not dumbbell drunk and drug-using kids. Teens can be distinct individuals and have different perspectives than the mass mind. It's up to their parents to understand this and give them the chance to develop into healthy people. However, having an older boyfriend with a very impressionable young teen girl deserves some close scrutiny, and might indicate the guy involved is a bit immature and a girl his age won't tolerate his nonsense any longer, so he dates "down." Or it might just mean, in a tight, marriage-minded farming community, that families are all familiar with each other, and it's just not a big deal as long as the parents feel that the kids know and follow the boundaries---and are reliable kids, and in Scott's case, after the breakup of a long-term relationship, this young lady is a short-term safe social haven for him while he gets his young-adult shit together. She's somebody to go to graduation parties with...maybe. I dunno. In his case, even I find his dating a 14 year old kinda odd. With or without an implied sex factor. It makes him seem...needy and manipulative. Like he needs that one person in his life who will just go along with, and agree to, everything he says. I can't picture his fellow grads thinking he's the coolest guy in town for showing up at the barbecue with a 14 year old. And I can't picture her parents being happy with it at all once he's officially graduated. It puts him outside the established social system that is the school world, and that makes it all look a bit different. She's still a first-year high school kid, and should have similar kid friends...and he's officially not a kid anymore, and will be living a grown man's life...and he's apparently not college-bound. Something's a bit off here...and I think having a 14 year old girlfriend seems like a clue for his state of mind. This is a time that he should be casting off "kid stuff" and suchlike ties, not acquiring more of it. It's part of developing adult pride. I do think he's emotionally stalled somewhere and mentally younger than his age. People who are trying to act adult when they aren't ready inside are under a big strain. And he's been without his biological father for years, important developmental years. And he rejected living with said father...possibly because he doesn't want an authority figure telling what to do. Hmm. And he clashes with his grandfather, and with his mother. Sounds like teen angst, but given the outcome...and the very young girlfriend...likely something more. To add to the weird, there's all that stuff about some local law enforcement guy dipping into the baby sitter pool---which certainly creates a bad example for the young girls and guys of the area. Ugh. The idea of teen girls being exploited for sex by older dudes becomes normalized...even in small-town, USA.
This crime scene leads me to believe that Scott had his rifle for defense and the shooter got him first. I hate to think that a law enforcement agency would determine that he was the shooter, but it appears to me that's what they did. Lazy, sloppy police work -- the appearance of not working at all.
I heard on another youtube channel that Scott hated guns and did not own firearms. The gun used was from a gun store owned by one of the cop's family's gun stores. There was no record of the gun being sold.
When does part 2 come out on this case? Love you guys! Keep up the great work. I always look forward to hearing your new podcast on Tuesdays. Blessings
Cousin Megan was sleeping on the couch and got killed. They need to reopen the case and figure out what happened. Megan karus, it's sounding like you said car us. It's more like care us.
It seems highly unlikely he would go on this mass killing spree without showing some sign of having a breakdown of some sort or atleast being stressed or conflicted..it seems really peculiar he would kill this younger girlfriend who's a friend of his sisters and he's only known a few weeks..that's not much time to get disenchanted with a girl your seeing..espicaly a younger one who would probably be infatuated with him and is unlikely to be interested in other guys at the moment..I'd think even if he had a self loathing thing going on and resented his family members, this wouldn't include her..I'd think he'd see her as and outsider to all this and innocent of any of the conflict that would have drove him to this..espicaly with her being younger, I imagine a 14 year old girl with this new older boyfriend would be enchanted with him and doing little or nothing that he would feel wronged by..I would think taking out his whole family then himself would mean he thought this whole family has gotten twisted and the well was poisoned essentially, and this young girl simply wouldn't be part of all that
The sheriff's dept was behind all of it. Stout was having underage sex with Stacy. She was ready to tell on him so he hired a hit. Made it look like Scott did it. Read the book saving Stacy untold story of the moody massacre. Good read
There is so many forensic test for sure to at least give an educated answer to who the shooter was. I personally think the sisters description of the shooter is correct. A the very least the should give the people answers because they should know of there is still someone out there killing whole family’s. If this persons still out there they need to be caught before he/she decides to kill again. If the brother is innocent the family deserves to have justice.
Her description before she went unconscious should be treated with some validity..she could be confused but sounds like there was no doubt this wasn't her brother she was describing and I can't imagine her not recognizing her brother no matter how he could disguise himself..and anytime you have half a dozen people in two related crimescenes and they are shot with one weapon it's not hard for it to look like one of the dead is the shooter..a .22 carbine..specifically a model 60..may very well not leave much if any gun shot residew..it being a rim fire and the action blowing gases away from where your hand is..
If he shot himself with a semi automatic, the gun could have recoiled and fired a second time if it got caught on his thumb. I also don’t know if a .22 would have enough recoil to break his thumb that’s typically seen in suicides.
Absolutely not..been competitive shooter and weapons enthuist most of my life and cant think of any .22...pistol, carbine, or rifle that could possibly have enough recoil to cause a fracture..even .22 trainers I've shot that are made to have as much recoil as possible
If the state police helped in the investigation,I'm sure they prob ran plenty of tests and interviews;small towns usually call in the state cops when shit like this occurs, the small towns aren't equipped to process a slaughterhouse, nor do they have expertise. It seems to me that the shots to the necks of the victims was avoid dis figuring their heads and faces, as a person close to the victims would consider doing.A 22 isn't going to blow their heads off but it could cause damage that would be difficult to fix for a funeral and open casket.who knows.
If it's a Marlin Model 60 like I think it is. It is one of the most common guns you could find on any Farm. You can buy one at Walmart today for a hundred fifty bucks. And, even without any kind of suppressor you're not going to hear it inside of a house you could literally be standing at the front door and not recognize those is gunshots. Most people hear gunshots at a distance and assume it's firecrackers because it just sounds like a balloon popping. Good job on this story guys very entertaining
Why can't we investigate Stacy? Maybe she killed them all and then shot herself....is that why she's a survivor? To take herself out of the suspect equation?
This case seems more perplexing than it actually is simply because the sister didn't want her brother fingered for the massacre.... Update: OK, maybe this is a conspiracy 😊

I live in bellefontaine, I approve this message. It was the police.
Paul Harvey never said that.
Fingerprints?? Why in this day and age was there no mention of any type of technology to help with investigation?
I love yalls show. The music is oddly comforting to me lol. Keep up your awesome work
I've lived in Logan County all my life and live 20 minutes from where this happened. This has been a huge local mystery and I've been so enthralled with this for ever.
No mystery.. we all know who did it. C.F.
Go to Logan County and ask some questions,,, just make sure you have good life insurance before going.

What are they hiding? So many unanswered questions.
How was Scott allowed to date a 14 year old girl?
Ya. That’s not addressed is it!!
Romeo and juliette laws. They were both still teens/went to same high school. Not that weird. Also it is possible to date and not have sex.

Glad i found this show
Went to school with him and these students n this is very emotional
Was everyone ok with him dating the 14 year old?? I don’t know a lot of parents that would be!
When does part 2 come out on this case? Love you guys! Keep up the great work. I always look forward to hearing your new podcast on Tuesdays. Blessings
It says part 1 of 1. There is no part 2..
Yeah, sadly this case looks weird af and would love an answer

It's not about "stupid or lazy". No, it's about being criminal.
Im probably not alone here, but I would like to hear your opinions on the zodiac killer.. suspects and a case overview.
Hin

Anyone get a count of total number of shots fired?

... this honestly is stupid. This was in 2005. And I dont know who did it. But it wasn't Scott.
Scott would be 35 years old today.
Where can you watch this on television ? I can’t remember the show when this Episode aired
True Crime Garage isn't a tv show.
Yall need to get a facecam!!!🥺😂 love the content but I need to see that beer pour😤
He's 18 and his girlfriend is 14... that alone makes me not care about him.
Nothing wrong with that !

I lean towards the idea that yall threw out that the sister was involved but maybe he turned against her so she’s covering her tracks
Ok. It does sound like a cover up. Wow. Thats why the cops did not follow thru
Cops did it
if i was mark furman, i could easily believe the surface story.
is anyone else completely sick to think there's like a teen girl / cop sex crime ring?
The cops did it
most annoying music/sound effects ever
Lol right. Enjoy these guys but this music specifically sucked
Capt.you should go apply for the Columbus P.D.
Why can't we investigate Stacy? Maybe she killed them all and then shot herself....is that why she's a survivor? To take herself out of the suspect equation?
If he took the cornfield he should have had traces of that on skin and clothing
This case seems more perplexing than it actually is simply because the sister didn't want her brother fingered for the massacre.... Update: OK, maybe this is a conspiracy 😊
This whole thing sounds like a Tess Gerritsen book
Yesss
Hoof arted. It's a visual joke. I saw it on a bumper sticker.
Sounds like Scott was a bipolar and needing help
Sheriff detective hired the hit to cover up that he and other deputies were molesting her and other girls and Stacy was going to tell so they hired the hit and blamed it all on scott
@@amyanderson9897 Sounds like same shit different day in Logan county.
he did it
moms boyfriend.
If it was the boyfriend wouldn't Stacy recognized him
I was the #20 like on this vid ⭐️
What's your point?
Mean
