@@batspidey7611 Nope, it's an Ursid Fanged Beast just like Lagombi and Arzuros. Meaning Bear. It's just a weird monster bear with armadillo-like armor and a long, sticky tongue which some bears AND armadillos possess.

I actually purchased MH3U, Generations, 4U, and Stories after World. World brought it to my attention. And now I love the game series and this RUclips series. I've gotten seven friends to watch your videos in the last few months. I know that's not a lot but I don't have a lot haha

Hey Strawfoot, any chance you'd do a lore video on Malfestio? I've been hunting him over the past few days trying to get a full armor set and I'm curious if he has any interesting backstory.
I should do a video on him, his backwards dust is the worst status ever invented... it makes my brain sad, have you gotten used to it farming him or is it always aggravating? Thanks for the comment Kevin!
It wasn't too bad for me. My armor was sturdy enough to tank hits while I've been getting used to the 3ds controls again, it's been awhile, and I mostly just used the first aid potions to survive. My problem was that I was trying to use an insect glaive but using a 3ds controler after being acustomed to how the ps4 version controls was jarring. Once I switched to dual blades, all I had to worry about was its status effects which I only found annoying but not complete irritating since I could still fight after being hit by the mist. Might try the bow when I fight it on high rank. Any thoughts?

You should for sure, their a lot different so it takes a little getting used to but it's totally worth it.
Neat. Will probably be only able to get the PC as I don't have consoles. I'll have to figure out which MH on PC I should go for next after experiencing MH:W.
And thanks for the shout out :D As for a "cooler" exit line... "Peace out" was cool :D Just that it has a modern/reality vibe to it after speaking in an immersive manner. Perhaps something in line with what hunters would say in farewell/until we meet again way? :)
Only PC? No other MH are on PC my dude, only World
There is MH Frontier and MH Online; Frontier is a lot more tricky to get on, since you need a ssn from either japan or s.korea, iirc. MH Online is a tencent game from China, that's easier to get on. Also there are emulators for psps so you can play freedom/freedom unite and P3rd.

Hermitaurs are so cute, they're one of my favorite monsters.
For the closing lines, how about a relevant quote/line to the monster i.e. " strawfoot rolling out " for Volvidons
or "this may look cute,but it is actually the sonerous war cry of a very angry crab" for Hermitaurs doing the \o/ pose
or "beware the eerie howls of the Rotten Vale and excercise extreme caution,lest you bite off more than you can chew"
While it might be a little challenging, I feel like it could really add a lot of personal creativity potential for the times you feel like it.

As for the outro maybe you can mix it with the suggestion to join the Discord? Something along the line of "Come and join our Discord to find fellow Hunters to chat and Hunt with, afterall, Teamwork makes the Dream work!" and then say the traditional Peace Out.

Thanks for covering Volvidon, it's easily one of my favourite monsters design-wise. I appreciate the effort you go into researching the biology and behaviours of the monster's real world counterparts in order to gleam info on them, such as the structure of the carapace and the use of insect venom for its own defence
I love how you cover all the different parts of the environment and not just the monster that’s the focus of the video.
Another great video, as for the outro line, maybe you could with a foreshadowing of your next lore vid, like "Our next assignment is (insert monster.. Zinogre plz), hope to see you there" with maybe your logo colored in the monster's colors.

Also, I was wondering if you have played monster hunter stories, looking past the semi childness of the gameplay, and the friends wins over all pokemon mentality. It is a really fun game to play and full of its own lore. I believe you would like to play it, and maybe a one off lore about the Riders.
Yeah I played Stories all the way through, I loved it. Super adorable game. The Pokka Pokka Village MH spinoff games on the psp are adorable also, if you liked stories you should check those out, it's kind of like animal crossing meets monster hunter.

You could also check how other documentaries end, I recommend nat-geo since discovery mostly do reality-show now a days.

Strawfoot I like how your giving some of the less popular monsters some attention, along with returning to the Old World! I have a little theory as to why the New World has no Fanged Beasts, in that they very rarely change habitats unlike other monsters. Arzuros and Volvidon would stay in the same areas that their insect prey/honey does and Bulldrome, Lagombi and Gammoth stay up high in snowy areas. Therefore they wouldn’t have made their way to the New World in the distant past like other monsters.
It's a good theory but I have a feeling we'll get an ice area in MHW eventually, probably in the G/Ultimate version. Thanks again for the comment Darkrai.

Yeah, I like him a lot also, I think usually the smaller less overpowered monsters end up being my favorites design wise. I like the over the top designs like valstrax and xeno also but they just aren't as exciting to me.

In a happier timeline we would get a huge DLC next year for Monster Hunter World, that had the Commander sending the player on a special assignment on the Old World, giving access to two new areas from the Old World, along with Fanged Beasts and Pseudo Wyverns as new types of enemies, along with some Wyverns that share basic movesets with already existing monsters.
But we are in the dark timeline ...

Nerscylla is the creepiest monster in the series besides MAYBE Narkarkos. Vaal Hazak is close but giant spider wearing another monster's skin is higher up my squick list than zombie dragon.
+OtakuUnitedStudio nerscylla is pretty special to me personally. My first mh game was 4u and ners was the first monster to really give me a hard time and throw me for a loop. Finally beating it was so satisfying that I like to pinpoint that moment as when I was truly hooked on the game. Also yeah, that thing is damn creepy with its 17 foot long poison fangs and weird buffalo bill-esque skin fetish.
+Strawfoot nah, straw, thank you. This kinda stuff is few and far between, and you do it well. Plus, you respond genuinely to your audience, and not a lot of channels do that. Don't know why I didn't sub sooner, can't wait to see what ya do next (nerscylla or otherwise haha)
@@realdingo3601 Same here! It's the first monster in the series to cart me. Gypceros was the first to make me mad, though. If it were a real thing I'd punch it in the eye just because it's more personal than a hunting weapon.

In full honestly I think the humans hunter did something that we where not supposed to do, I'm not and expert but following the lore a very powerful and dangerous Fatalis that even learn to melt hunters and body and armor to make it it's own and still believe that his still on the fallen kingdom Charades, but its song and story's that he is the black dragon of destiny, death, and the dragon that will bring the end and when and playing and reading and watching the lore of this game (grate job by the way) and learn about the Sapphire star (aka. Zeno.) and how its light is supposed to bring the new the hope and the life of the new world and the dragon of destiny. Again not an expert, but I've been playing since the PSP and this is what I've learn form the story's. But what is Zeno was ment to fight this Fatalis in a final showdown and we messed it up? What do you think?
