Derrick Henry and that defense might have carried Alabama through the season but Jake Coker and the passing game showed up during clutch moments in the playoffs.
Nick Sabans best coaching job was 2015. Coker had many highlights that year, one of my favorite is when he took on the A&M defenders and put them on there backs.
The only season our defense wasn’t a top 10 defense since Kirby has been gone was when we had some injuries at LB’er and two freshman had to start at MLB…. which is one of, if not the most important part to the 3-4 base D which Alabama runs. (Tho we’re mostly in nickel) 2016 was probably our best defense. Hell, this past season our defense finished top5 in the county way ahead of UGA in sacks, finished top5 in rush defense allowing about 100 more rush yards than UGA but with around 30 more carries our D faced. Our freaking problem is missed assignments in the secondary. A&M basically got 2 free TD’s against us last season cause our secondary was confused. Also defense has changed. Starting in 2013 offenses started to get smarter and smarter as the seasons came and went. Did you not see what we did to UGA in the SECCG when Metchie was healthy for a half and we had Williams? Best teams UGA played before that were a Clemson team with no QB and Kentucky….. Elite offenses with talented bend but don’t break defenses are where it’s at nowadays and no one recruits from top to bottom offensively than Alabama. That being said I wish UGA would’ve kept Mark Richt forever. Love Kirby!
Michigan State had a very good front 7 that held there own against Bama but Jake Coker waited till the playoffs to play his best, he got those weapons on the outside the ball very good in the playoffs. Then the way the defense shut down the Michigan State offense put the nail in the coffin.
People that say why run it up the middle? Watch this game... first quarter Henry gets stuffed maybe two yards is all he gets. Second he's plowing through for 4 and 5 yards every carry by the end he's busting chunk plays.... The answer is wears down defenses.
All they do is execute the plays as they are trained. It sounds simple and looks simple. Nick can not smile because it is never prefect, but the Tide keeps rolling.
That int before the half ended literally destroyed all hope for MSU. And it reminded me of SB 26 when Thurman fumbled and Dallas recovered. The life was sucked out of Buffalo. No bueno. Hang tough MSU. Your time will come.
If a team doesn’t recruit top10 every year and have an elite and probable 1st round QB, (tho not necessary if one recruits top5 year in and out) then it’s almost impossible to beat Alabama. If Ohio St. didn’t have such a crappy head coach (great recruiter tho) then it would be hard for another Big10 team to beat them, which is rare anyways but even more so with a great coach. The last time a team that didn’t fit any of that criteria did it to Bama was South Carolina in 2010. They had Marcus Lattimore, Stephon Gilmore, Alshon Jeffery while they’re QB played like his hair was on fire. I didn’t think Mich St had a chance, not trying to be an a** and I freaking love love loved that kicker running down the field after kicking the game winner against Ohio St. 😂 That new coach for Mich St. is a great recruiter so expect some great memories against rivals to come soon.
LOL. You had a choice, choose to meet him in a positive light or negative light. You didn't pick positive. Racist by choice or didn't have a choice? Just sayin.
Are we gonna forget the fact that Michigan state only made it because of pure luck against the wolverines and buckeyes hel im a Clemson fan and I know that!
I watched the game against Ohio St. Urban should’ve used Zeke more but Michigan St did their job. As for the Michigan game…they put themselves in the position to be down by less than a TD and Michigan’s inability to correctly punt a ball is on them. So not so much Mich St luck but Jim Harbaugh sucking at as a coach the majority of the time. Plus the Mich St kid that picked up that failed punt and returned it for a TD hustled his ass off, breaking his hip too. Doesn’t sound lucky to me. lol. Plus you make you’re own luck or it’s Devine intervention and I don’t think God cares about football. Though God would rlly hate Michigan and Ohio St. Elitist bums.

Especially in the title game, Coker to OJ Howard
I thought RUclips had strict rules against posting snuff films.
shut yo dumb ass up. lol
Marcus Bradley 🤣🤣🤣
Ive always loved how physical of a quarterback Coker was

He did it to an LSU linebacker as well. lol
At one point during this game the cameras literally zoomed in on Michigan state's qb saying, "they're fucking everywhere!!!" To his coach.
When you watch some of the older games, you are able to see how important Kirby was to our Defense!!
Kirby smart?
😞😔🥺
@@evan-j7x Nah Kirby the pink video game character

YAHTZEE!!! That's exactly what they do... execute normal plays. Even the announcers mentioned that especially in the title game against Clemson.
If Colt McCoy wouldn’t of gotten hurt…. Wait…. Different game, my bad!

Robinson, Reid, and Derrek Henry...will we ever see their like in the 'Bama backfield again?
It could happen, but probably won't
Reggie Ragland is not a man I would want to meet on bad terms....
me either!
I met him when he came to my home town for the senior bowl, yeah he's huge!
CrazyChickenDude 2 You live in Mobile? That’s cool, I live in Foley.

Domination by Henry, credit to Calhoun who is a great defensive back
Well, they were in this game longer than they were in 2011
There were experts picking Michigan st.
this was a beat down.
Another great Big 10 showing 😂
BAMA NC #16. Damn right ROLL TIDE ROLL.
#18!
Best team win the SEC win first round and win the national championship game roll tide roll
25:38 should have this video age restricted
Michigan brought their own refs?

Drake shoulda just stayed going down the sideline and he would have had another 6.
Dec 22, 22. Espn ranks the 36 playoff teams to date. MSU 2015 comes in last. Damn! Even, Saban's only legit NC has a caveat.
Roll tide
MSU was fully in this game until the Cook INT.
hahaha.yea that wuda made a difference.
Cook was getting drilled all 4 quarters lol
@@targfu I'm not saying MSU would have won, but had they scored, that would've been a HUGE confidence booster.
Go Green
