I read his book 'The Moon's a Balloon's. I was in stitches before chapter 2. Very funny book indeed. I lent it to a friend at work and he went and lost it. Sometimes I want to read it again especially when I'm feeling a bit down'. I keep my looking in charity shops and second hand book shops, but to no avail. Brilliantly Funny book, what a fantastic writer of Anecdotes he was.
Wheather it be a king, queen, elvis, the Beatles, or any other famous person, it would have been David Niven who I’d be so happy to see, listen to, and be in his company, I thought he was absolutely amazing, marvellous in fact
Absolutely LOVE this man, great actor, great character and pretty much a doppelganger of my paternal grandfather (seriously, almost twins in younger photos), who has always been the man I most admired. RIP to both of you ❤
David Niven made every movie he was in better by being in it. When he died in 1983, I felt sad, like a bright star in the sky had been extinguished and the world was a little less bright.
DBEdwards, Motor Neurone Disease is a horrible way to go. Years ago it was linked to organo phosphates.... Shepherds got it from the sheep dip fluid....☠️ Also probably from field pesticides that drift on the breeze..🤔.. 🇬🇧🤔👎☠️😢🦉🇬🇧
We do not have to be cynical in any way looking back at this marvelous actor. If there was a class act of a famous actor..David Niven fits the bill. He is charming , well dressed, eloquent ad has great stories to tell!
Many, many years ago I worked in Europe for a Swedish company. My boss was Swedish and I'm an Australian. He was very disappointed when I first met him. He said he thought Australians would sound like David Niven.
No one should ever feel ashamed of wearing an orange tie with an orange shirt. I liked David Niven and I liked his autobiography, 'The Moon's a Balloon'. He was a rascal and quite successful - but a not a very convincing actor.
FABULOUS ACTOR ❤❤
What a delightful, charming man. They don’t make them like that anymore.
There are great Actors and great people, not many are both but Mr. Niven was one of the few, absolutely great in all ways.
Absolutely

You could listen to David Niven for hours - a great story teller
David Niven seems a true gentleman and a magnificent Englishman we can be proud of

A naturally funny man.
His films but also reading his books like Being On the Empty Horses about his time in Hollywood or the Moon is a Balloon.
WONDERFUL ACTOR. HE DID NOT DESERVE HIS END.
