    It's almost a sort of sin to use any type of cutlery when eating a bunny chow lol.

    • @kallansivparsad2765
      @kallansivparsad2765 7 лет назад +5

      And the average person gets a quarter loaf, you guys got a half loaf bunny. You need a really big appetite for that

    Love it! There's an izakaya restaurant in Las Vegas' Chinatown that serves a dessert called "honey toast" which takes the same bread bowl from a pullman white bread loaf, toasts, adds honey over ice cream - MMMMM! Shame this released after your LV visit.

    Its a fact Durban makes the best Bunnychows😆. My combo of choice is a quarter mutton bunny with thee 300ml glass bottle coke to drink (for some reason it's better👌) accompanied by grated carrot salad and on the side curried or vinegar soaked chillies👌.The potatos should be firm to grab but easily mashed with fingers when eating (the local term is "melting moment" potatos😆). The meat should be tender but not compleatly falling of the bone. The curry should have a thick spicy ( not necessarily hot) gravy, it must not be drowning in oil. The spices should compliment the meat/veg not mask it👌and last but not least the bread. Not all bread are made for bunny making. The bread should be soft on the inside and have a fresh slightly crispy crust(if you gotta fight with the bread to get in there😅 the restaurant/take away got it wrong😅) and it should be able to soak up the gravy without becoming "slimy" . If you are lucky enough to get these qualities in a bunny chow... then you my friends have the true experience of a great bunny 👌 I'm glad to see people from around the world enjoying our South African cuisine . Thanks guys

      I don't know who the best is but there are quite a few good ones around. They actually have a annual bunny competition which is a big thing! You can try places like Govenders, Goundens, Britania Hotel, Danny's House of Curries, , Curry O's, Cane Cutters, Hollywoodbets. the first 3 are old established venues, probably my favourites but all should be good. Before heading out to durbs pop in here mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/888478-Umhlanga-bunny-chows for any updates on bunny places, the folks will also assist with any other food & travel questions you might have ;)

    I think the food during your wine tasting tours looked a lot better than that curry. The bread looks like conventional store bought bread.
