  • Ferrari F355 Berlinetta
The Ferrari F355 was presented to the public for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1994. It was the successor to the Ferrari 348 and was built until the Ferrari 360 Modena appeared in 1999. In terms of driving behavior, driving performance and processing quality, it represented a major step forward compared to the 348 GTB/GTS. The difference to the successor Ferrari 360 Modena, on the other hand, is small from a technical point of view.
I made a few videos showing the F355 Berlinetta and wanna share the impressions with you.

Lovely video with some beautiful background shots and editing.
The 355 was in period a complete game changer. So much faster than it’s Porsche and Aston rivals, a cart that really affirmed Ferrari’s position at the top of the automotive tree. One of their most beautiful designs for sure in the modern era.

@@Car.Enthusiast No offence meant. I am a former sound engineer and I use at least 4 microphones for these videos (1 in engine bay for induction sound, 1 near exhaust and two/stereo in cabin), then in post-pro blend according to picture (outside/inside car). Would gladly collaborate/help out. But I am afraid we are located too far apart! Cheers Stefan

@@Car.Enthusiast Thomas, there are a lot of options from cheapish to (very) expensive. Basically you need a multitrack recorder with at least 4 (better 6+) phantom powered mic pre-amps (e.g. ZOOM H6, I use Sound Devices MixPre 10T) incl. appropriate battery power, storage, mounting hardware. Then you need various microphones. Wired lavaliers with wind-screens (aka. dead-cats) for engine bay, exhaust etc. (I suggest AKG C417PP, I use Sennheiser MKE II Gold + Phantom Power Adaptors), two sdc (or one stereo) mics for inside (can be the XY-capsule of the ZOOM H6, I use use two SCHOEPS CMC + mounting hardware). You want to record all mics to separate tracks and import those to your video edit software later (I use BMD Davinci Resolve) where you blend the signals to match the picture...
Good audio is not easier than good video, often not even cheaper ;)
Have fun & good luck. Stefan

@@vanduc996 The vast majority of new Ferraris are bought by rich people who just want to be seen in a Ferrari. The vast majority never get above 30mph in Mayfair, Monte Carlo or Manhattan. Ferrari know this. It's why the engineering is woeful. Why else would they start breaking down and falling apart after a couple of years? I know a car guy who owned a sound engineering business. He owned a couple and admitted they were shit. Every day he wondered what would drop off or fail this time. As for real-world performance, Ferraris are slow. They're too low, too wide and over-powered. Any run-of-the-mill hot hatch would leave this for dead on real roads with speed humps, obstacles, high hedges, potholed road surfaces etc. Ferraris are designed to go fast around empty racetracks and who does that? Italian cars have always been more concerned with the 'look at me' factor. It upsets fanboys who don't own Ferraris but own all the posters and have a Ferrari prancing horse badge on their Alfa Romeo but I'm afraid they're just going to have to sit and cry because like it or not, Ferraris are the ultimate hairdresser's car.
