@@CommanderReplay stax is better played at a table of skilled players in that inexperienced players will misevaluate Rule of Law effects (or other stax pieces) in their threat assessments and prematurely use removal on a target that only provides an "in" to a player who was being kept in check by said stax pieces.
"I played too nice" :D Feel you! When you play the big beatdown commander, sometimes you just gotta take out a player without mercy (a lesson I'm still learning).
Yeah I was trying not to go too hard about it, since we were going friendly decks. Was trying to manage the feels bad, then got stuck with the feels bad myself.
I'm a smidge sad PJ didn't catch the little combo I did with There and Back Again and Nasty End; I turned the rat token legendary with the former's Tempt so I got to draw 3 cards with Nasty End. Also, this is yet another game where my opinion of "Mass protection spells are bad for the game's health and should either not exist or be very mana expensive" feels vindicated.
I've built a Shadowfax taxes deck and I'll tell you this much - doesn't need to be a new player who'll zero in on cards like Rule of Law. Got several players in my pods who get so focused on anything that impedes them from doing what they want that they'll zero in on those things, even when the combo player is about to go off.
30:59 since you only have 15 creatures in the deck and most arent legendary, honor-worn shaku might be worth cutting. Unless there are a bunch of other legendary permanents that just didnt show up this game, like being able to tap a hammer of nazahn to untap shaku seems pretty decent.
There are a lot of options at this point, best is sort of subjective. It depends on what you want. If you want 100% uptime on mask of memory, then best :)
@r.a.w.780 I feel like Kellan can get very repetitive to play always turn 2 search for mask or anime sword into commander and value from there. Nahiri seems the most fun because of her exile the top cards effect let's you see more of the deck while keeping it different every time. Akiri I think is kind of just a supporting card at this point with how many good boros equipment commanders we have now. Although if you're wanting to build around like sunforger or kaldra and the like then Kellan would be great since you need those vital pieces for the deck to really get running.
@@r.a.w.780 Havent played nahiri. Kellan gives you consistency. Akiri gives you interesting things to do with indestructible and card draw. If straight power and kill speed are what you are looking for Bruenor is a very good choice. If you like combo Aurelia.
Well said about stax. Well said.
What did i say i dont remember?

Oh yeah. I have good insights sometimes. It is true though. Cant count how many times I died to this.
that early commentary on Rule of Law *chef's kiss* I will always recommend this channel to new players
Excellent thank you. Lot of people liked that bit on rule of law :)

It’s good to see a post, PJ. Fun game and commander

13:10 "I hate 'can't be blocked effects". Also has Traiblazers boots on the field. Im getting mixed signals here...
3:06 this would've been a perfect moment to insert a clip of Biden saying, "from the bottom up, and the middle out." Lmao

I dont think theres an Honor Worn in this deck. Different card maybe?
@@CommanderReplay i saw it when you had the decklist pulled up. Was right there at the bottom of the 3drops
Cool stuff!
This commander may be the best Boros equipment commander.

I cant make up my mind in playing this, Nahiri or Akiri... which would you say is the most enjoyable to play?
There's just something about how up front and brutal Bruenor can be that would make him my pick, if I had a Boros equipment deck.

I did a video on Kellan and basically called it in the video that you'd be playing him in a video. Mask of Memory is disgusting.
My Boi did it !
Can’t wait this long for another of PJ’s videos
Engagement. Also we all played a bit too kindly this game. Good srax speach.
When you said you copied the the mana base im like no PJ not again.
Boros
hate the art on that card
Who hurt you?
