Episode 925 This is one of my favorite instruments. Its small size lets me keep it in my office. Not much bigger than a DVM. Specs: w140.com/tekwi... Be a Patron: / imsaiguy
Thanks for presenting the Sony/Tek 336. It's not as limited as you seem to suggest though. As an example, the digitization part of the 336 is not just a frame grabber: Put trigger on Auto (you had it on Single) and it's a full DSO, albeit with a slow sampling rate, so one-shot is limited. You even have cursors with things like concurrent voltage and differential time indication.
Walter Montalvo, In my 40 years working as an electronics engineer, I can tell you that I also prefer an analog oscilloscope because it has an almost infinite resolution and a much higher sampling rate than a digital one. In my lab I have both but I only use the analog.
Do you use the GPIB to transfer screen captures? I assume that is a key point of the screen grabber, the ability to act like a camera and output the image for printing or inclusion in an electronic document?
I used a 336 for about 15 years doing field tech support for a major elevator manufacturer/ service company.
thank you very much, could you please explain the procedure for signal capture with trigger mode ?

Neat scope. For what tasks do you prefer the analog scope over the digital one?
on a modern scope there there is no advantage to analog. on this scope, the analog is faster sweep to sweep. I turn on digital to capture events

@@IMSAIGuythat I'd a very tasty oscilloscope.love the screen data information .....I am a definately a Sony fan boy..

no, the best part of a digital scope is to capture one time events, single shot, or capture non repetitive events such as serial data streams.
@@IMSAIGuy And the big trick is how to trigger on that event, true?
sometimes. usually not
Nice ornament. Thanks for the look.
