    You can round and round in circles blaming yourself and going through the what ifs but the thing to focus on is that you've done the right thing for her and are getting her mended and you clearly love the bones off her! Sometimes its so hard knowing what to do when theres so many different opinions, one person is telling you to ride them through it and the next person is diagnosing them with everything under the sun but ultimately you knee your pony well enough to get to the bottom of things. Hope she keeps improving for you, she'll be absolutely cracking now shes not hurting because just think how well she was doing considering! Keep your chin up, the hard graft of rehab will be worth it, you're a fab little team. Xx

      Wow Beth thank you so much, I think that really puts it in to perspective. You can easily spiral in to a bit of overthinking and worrying about things or the ‘what if’s. But that last ride she just felt bloody awful & the final thing was the stop. Originally I thought these kind of stops were her saddle pinching or serious lack of confidence. But now I know it’s because it was always on a long one and it was hurting her 😰. Which made me feel awful.
      But the main thing is , we know now before anything really yikesyyy. We are treating her & she’s under the best vet care 🤞🏻☺️.
      I think you’re right she’s gonna come back so good! Xx

    Exactly the same as my welsh, negative angle on his pedal bones which is why he was intermittently short especially during summer months when the ground was hard, but pads have been a revelation. Fingers crossed Seren will be fine.

    Our horses always send our minds spiralling out of control when they get something wrong don't they. I know how you feel currently going through hoof problems with my welshy but thats been caused by farriers trimming incorrectly causing her pedal bone to rotate far too much, Ive lost alot of hope with professionals as they havent helped me just made my horse worse ive gone down the path of hoofing marvellous and the Phoenix way think someone has already commented about this but theres alot of information on there if you ever want some extra help. I really hope your farrier/vet work better for you and can sort seren ❤ 😊

      Don’t they! They are just so precious to us. It must be quite common among Welshies then! Probably because of their high knee action. Aww bless I really hope someone can help your welshy! I deffo recommend the remedial shoes.
      So far so good 🤞🏻xx

    You can't blame yourself, you dont have x-ray vision (inless you do, which would be uber cool!) and Sezzie wasn't obviously lame. Good on you for pursuing an answer rather than letting things drag on.
    So she's got to wear stilettos for a while, does she also have to dance round her handbag in the field? (showing my age there!!! 😂😂) xx

      She’s okay, she’s under veterinary advice. The pads ensure her frog is touching the floor for circulation. They are working so far so I’m happy with what my farrier and vet have done. X

    • @theimperfectequestrian
      @theimperfectequestrian 3 месяца назад

      @@Whizzywelsh_Eventing OK. I understand. But it's really worth looking into the info so that you are fully informed and you can still stick with the decision you have made. At the end of the day in all the years training a vet has, they only have 1/2 a day dedicated to hoof health. That's not that much to be making big decisions on. Raising heels will cause the pedal bone to start to rotate. It's the hoof capsule that rotates the bone.
      Like you said, it's your horse, your choice and I do respect that. But I just didn't feel I'd done my due diligence if I didn't inform you there was good valid info available.
      I wish you all the very best for her recovery truely.

      @@theimperfectequestrian No thank you, I do really appreciate your speaking up if you know a lot about this subject. I have researched to high hell trust me haha. Every night without fail since finding out I’ve been watching RUclips videos. We are hoping this isn’t a long term thing with the remedial shoeing and it may right its self after a few cycles.
      She used to be barefoot before I had her, but the amount of work I was doing with her. Put strain on her backend & the physio said she had worn them down. That was sorted with shoeing.
      I will deffo be keeping my options open, but for now it’s working 🤞🏻🤞🏻 xxx
