- Dutch band Fokus's only Danish appearance this was at the third festival named Kun For Forrykte, which is being held in the city of Stubbekøbing on the island Falster in the south of Denmark.. Kun For Forrykte Festival is a modern celebration of what PEACE, LOVE & HAPPINESS once stood for in the 60's and 70's.. Tune in for more info about the 2023 edition..😁

Should be a thousand people there to hear this wonderful band. Saw them live in 1973. Along with the Mahavishnu Orchestra and Deep Purple my favourite live musical experiences. They are so emotionally charged when they play. Great depth to their music. What a drummer! Has his own sound … can just focus on his playing … happy.
Also without Jan Akkerman , who is essential, they make a good concert. This guitarist is very good. Compliments to him ! No one can do Jan, yet he is top-good .
So great to see Pierre van der Linden.

I bought "In and Out Focus" when it was released... I was fifteen and this band was, for me, as a lightning in a clear sky! I never stop loving them! 👋👋👋
Quite possibly the most underrated great fabulous incredible band of all time. The original line up when they were a lot younger were unbelievable. MOVING WAVES HAMBURGER CONCETTO, 2 must have prog rock albums.
Superb musicianship, and I am *not* easy to please. Thijs van Leer has a very gracious manner in his talks with the audience. Really fine outdoor concert. Great work from everyone in the band.

Saw them at Grimsby in February 2020. Stunning musicianship. They really rocked.
In the last few months - in a nostalgic mood looking back at the last 70 years of my life - I began listening to some old Focus records and was impressed by how refreshing and original their music was in the early 1970s. An added excitement are the live gigs they played in those days and now available via RUclips.
I am so thrilled to come across the above live recording. The enduring power and imagination of Thijs van Leer, Pierre van der Linden, Menno Gootjes and Udo Pannekeet could not be better presented than through this concert at the Kun For Forrykte Festival in Denmark in June 2022. The audio quality is outstanding and Thijs is right to mention the essential role of sound engineer Giraldo.
It has been 51 years now since I last saw Focus in concert as a young man. Focus was one reason to be proud to be Dutch. I cannot believe the vitality of Thijs and Pierre, who are now in their mid 70s. Keep on playing, Focus! Blijf doorgaan, Thijs, Pierre, Menno, Udo en Giraldo! Ik woon in Wales en hoop jullie te zien spelen ergens in 2023.

Great musicians, awesome band. I've just discovered them. only knew them by Hocus Pocus.
Hocus Pocus is their best known song, but they have much better songs!
I recommend Moving Waves from 1971, Focus 3 from 1972 and Hamburger Concerto from 1974!
Pierre is better than ever in his mid 70s.One of my favourite bands growing up in the 70s. Met Thijs once ,perfect gentleman.

I saw Focus way back in the day at a big outdoor event in London and Jack Bruce of Cream fame came on and played with them :)
Yep i was there....Oval Cricket Ground, September 1972 i was 17 and heard Focus and Genesis for the first time and been hooked ever since! Only time i saw Jack Bruce as he played with Jan Akkerman and the Focus drummer Van Der Linden

Een van de beste concerten van Focus. En Jan Akkerman!! Ik mis hem voor geen meter. Menno is zeker zo goed als Jan of zelfs nog beter. Geweldige Band dit met een zeer goede Bassist en dan Pierre als Drummer een Super Drummer en Thijs vanouds oh zo goed die Hammond en Fluit. Hoop dat ze nog lang door gaan met optreden.
Deze gitarist kwijt zich goed van zijn taak maar ik hoor wel dat het Jan Akkerman niet is. Er is maar één Jan Akkerman...
Menno kan er ook wat van ja, maar je moet het wel in perspectief zien. Jan speelde 50 jaar geleden al zo. De hedendaagse gitaristen hebben veel speelwijze als inspiratie gehad. Jan was de enige die op zijn herkenbare manier speelde.... 50 jaar geleden al. Jammer dat de twee ego's van Thijs en Jan niet met elkaar overweg konden.

BRILLIANT ! Og så bliver en sådan Festival afholdt i Stubbekøbing ( ja, jeg kender udmærket stedet min ex-hustru kommer fra Maribo ) så det passer helt fint til " Kun for Forrykte " ( hvilket er et afsnit i Herman Hesse´s roman " Steppe Ulven ". Og bemærk venligst min kommentar er så absolut Kærligt ment. Bonus-info: Jeg er 73 ! og stadig så meget i live.
Jeg er "kun" 51og blevet opflasket med progressiv rock fra mange sider i min familie - Focus er et minde fra da jeg var tre år gammel og fandt ud af musik er min livslange kærlighed. Fedt at se dem igen!

I used to love this band back in the 70's, fantastic musicians. Seems such a shame seeing them play in front of a handful of people

Even the two replace musicians world class Vanleer perhaps the greatest hammand organ player ever as far as flute in my opinion better than Anderson .in 1973 no better fusion band Jan Akkerman greatest guitarist ever hands down. This coming from a big jazz nut who herd most of the greats !!
We were quite a crowd there, considering it is a very small venue - guess two thirds of the ticketholders can be seen in the panview ~ 12:30 in the video. Great concert and great little festival. Highly recommended by the guy with grey hair ~12:37 🙂

Fantastic! I think there is much of early Scandinavian 70's prog music feeling in Focus music; this melancholy thing. But I think Focus maybe has a bit more fun added😀
This wasn't Focus's only Danish appearance this year - they had two shows, this April - in Vendelbohus, Hjørring (22 April 2022) and Kedelhuset, Silkeborg (23 April 2022)

I’m 60 years old and everyone thinks I’m 42-45 years old ..German Scottish descendent. Long hair and Still no gray like my Dad at 59..he passed away a month away from turning 60… even young active people can’t escape Cancer… Focus needs to come to America I be right in front cheering them on..I always admire the Hocus Pocus song just a GEM….

Great band great live and musicians saw them years ago with jan akkerman shame looks like not many people there that's how you play kids talent
for me , a die-hard fan of the group since 1975, Menno is the best guitar player they had in the band, after Akkerman ....
Nils van Der Steenhoven was clean and a fine technical tight player, Menno is brilliant and gifted but Akkerman must have been so difficult to play with live I think both the two I mentioned were better than Jan...he mucked about and busked it too often live.
@@brianandrew9706 ....for sure Akkerman is a little bit like Ritchie Blackmore when we talk about live performances...., maybe too much improvisations/jams/taking chances and it was always not ok and sometimes genius ....but for me, for the studio work and his own style he was the perfest guitar player to play with Van Leer ....( personal opinion of course )

Worst: 7 out of 10 watch a concert through the display of their smarter than them device to show others what they saw live what they actually didn't just to feel "My life is better than yours".
As an actor or musician on stage I'd motivate the crowd to beat them down instantly because otherwise I'd quit the show for anybody.

Blijft toch een beetje aantobben met die Thijs die ik altijd erg heb gerespecteerd maar na het uiteenvallen van de oude Focus komt hij niet echt meer aan de bak. En dan, Jan Akkerman... Nou die mis ik voor geen ene meter want hij is, als je het mij vraagt, een erg overgewaardeerde en arrogante gitarist en bovendien vreselijk afhankelijk van buien. Nee, geef mij Menno maar want die is écht heel goed. Thijs moet trouwens echt niet gaan zingen jongens want dat is ronduit verschrikkelijk.
De ouwe Focus? Welke ouwe Focus? De mijne rijdt nog steeds lekker. Maar aantobben met Thijs, wat een onzin.Thijs doet al jaren waar hij goed in is en waar hij lol aan beleeft. Hopelijk gaat hij nog een tijdje door zodat we nog veel plezier aan hem beleven.
No one can fill Jan's shoes. He is simply the best and most eclectic guitarist on the planet, with an exceptional sense of melody only (possibly) matched by Stephan Grappelli...
