Great channel. Congrats from 🇫🇷 could you give us some data on your herd / number cows / Milk production etc and would you get better milk performance with 100% holstein ?

We milk around 300 with a total herd of 350 with dry cows. We raise all of our own heifers to, so we have around 700 head here. Most of the cross breeds hold there own for production with the holsteins.

We really like it. We have been doing it for 8-10 years now.

I have never seen double planted rows of corn. Can you explain that.

    • @arlofarms

It is called twin rows. The rows are 8" apart centered on 30". We used to plant some 15" row corn for silage, but we like this better cause we can either chop or combine any of it.

@arlofarms Do you need a different corn head, or will a 30 inch head work?

    • @arlofarms

We use a regular 30" head to combine. The self propelled chopper that we use for silage has a Kemper style head on it.
