5:22: 3 principles for good animations 7:40 Code solutions 11:30 Use Spring for smooth retarget animation. 19:15 Animate Drawables 26:13 StateListAnimator 28:30 Custom view animation
Awesome. This talk actually gave a lot of practical tips on animation essentially months of research in a single video. Saving it to reference in the future. Would've been nice if there was a codelab though!
By far one of my favorite talks from any Google I/O i've watched over the years. A year ago, I watched at this and was like why not just use AnimationListener or MotionLayout? But now that I understand more about Reactive programming, kotlin, and MotionLayout, these principles absolutely apply and can stay relevant regardless of platform. Thank you so much Nick Butcher! I hope you give more talks in the future :)
I am of the opinion that pretty soon there's going to be a "no animation" trend in app design if you don't believe me, go to developer options, disable animations, ten continue to use your phone like this for the rest of the day thank me later

very very nice presentation thank you
Really good talk, but I wish you would have shown a demo of the initial login example after refactoring to use the new animation code.
