- We are excited to meet up with @MorAcro and his family - Kevin, Andrea and Rumi - in the beautiful seaside town of Tamraght! In this episode we all go shopping at the small Tuesday souk in Tamraght to buy ingredients to cook our own Tagine.
Kevin and Gavin both decide on a beef Tagine and it turns into a Tagine-cooking competition! Have a look and let us know in the comments what you think about their Tagine style!
A special thank you to Kevin and Andrea for their hospitality and for such a fun afternoon.
Thanks for watching! :)

Pease do not use tagine pots that are varnished. Chemicals will mix with the contents you are going to eat. You can find tagine pots that are varnished only from the outside, but those varnished in the inside should not be used. Preferably, buy an unglazed tagine, even if it doesn't look as nice and shiny. And for the first use, you have to put water only to cook for hours to sterilize it in a way. Good to see you back in Morocco
Hello every body special regards to kids.
You meat today best people kevin and andrea loved in all morocco and considered definitely from this land morocco.
Have nice time.
Before living morocco, you have to visit the Atlas specially for kids

Great video from two of my favorite vlogging families .. and let me tell you guys that (the uniqueness of tagine is that you just need the right spices + good slow cooking time, and you have the most delicious dish, plus it's healthy since the pot is with the clay. Amazing video, Oh and i think harry and and Oscy would love to have a little sister ^^
Haha I bet they would! ☺️☺️
Thank you 🙏 really appreciate your support we are loving Morocco 🇲🇦
@@AwaywiththeSteiners Fingers crossed 🤞😄
@@gavinsteiner3759 Welcome brother .. all love !! ^^
All of these areas are the areas of Western Sahara occupied by Morocco, and all of its inhabitants were displaced refugees in the Tindouf camps in Algeria after the Green March, whose purpose was to occupy, settle and deliberately change the human structure, which the world denounced at the time, and there are videos called Where is King Hassan II threatening In which the local population was killed, Western Sahara was a Spanish colony and ceded it to Mauritania and Morocco with the illegal Madrid agreements. After Mauritania left Western Sahara, Morocco seized the remaining lands. Every tourist advertisement for disputed areas is a violation of international law and a partner in the tragedy and suffering of the Saharawi people.
Ma sha Allah
I am happy to see the 2 families together in Morocco🇲🇦

Thanks a lot @IaasryBrahim 🥰
Thank you 🙏 The Steiners very entertaining video ❤
Thanks 😊
great experience for your wonderful family with mor acro and his beautiful american-slovino-moroccan family ❤️
Yea it’s been great catching up 😊
Good job for an unready tagine 👍🏼 little advice for more flavor next tagine :
The first time you use your tagine, soak both pieces in water for 24 hours beforehand. Using a pastry brush, coat the inside of both pieces with olive oil and place it in a cold oven. Heat the oven to 100°C and once it reaches the temperature, leave it to for two hours to seal.
ماتبقاش تعقد لمسائل عل الناس .. بقاو دوزو شوية وتنقصو شوية من لفهامة ..
Very Nice video, really , honnestly
the twice tajine are very good
It's à pleasure to see you having good time in morocco 👍
Bravo
Just a little advice. When you buy the tagine go for the one that isn't glazed and isn't shiny. Go for the ones that look like plain clay. The top usually looks like a round dome. The plain clay ones are healthier and also it is preferable to leave the tajine in water overnight and then leave it in the oven to be heat-treated. Some tajines will break the first time if they do not go thru that process. Salam
True
Great tip thank you 🙏
@@gavinsteiner3759 You bet. Cheers to you and to your beautiful family. You guys left Morocco but had to come back. That is very common with people that come to Morocco to visit, wether they're moroccans or not. We have a saying that basically translates to : "The spirits of the place want you to stay". You'd be surprised by the number of people who are just drawn back to Morocco as if some unseen force makes them feel home. Hard to explain but I'd say enjoy every single moment of it. 🏊🏄♀️🏄
It's Ramadan, and I live in Europe, and I'm watching the Steiners cooking and eating tagines 😢 I'm hungry !!
Oh no! Happy Ramadan by the way! We have lots of videos to share that were filmed before Ramadan… Hope that’s ok! ☺️

Good job guys.
Thanks @MoorishWarrior!
Beautiful video, thank you
Just watched this as had a cut off from tech stuff in the mountain with our Moroccan family friends. (Highly recommend) Gavin did great for 1st time tagine and Kevin not so good on the brazier as got timing wrong with the spuds and flavouring but all fun and good time had by all which is an important ingredient to a good family mealtime. Look forward to more videos. 👌👍
Great video
I love it
I'm glad you like it - thanks 🙏
I will be waiting for the next video 😜
You make me want to eat tajine.
I am a Moroccan, I live in France
I love you ❤❤❤
Great video. you are great family😃
I like the souk, good to see you preparing tagine...Nice 😃👋🏻👌👍🏻
Harry had the right idea - visit the professionals! Couldn't look while cooking on the ledge, far too precarious - if it fell over the edge then a small child might be underneath and hot coals will rain down on them 😱. Otherwise it can fall this way and on top of Harry, Oscar or baby Rumi 😱. We have seen accidents on youtube, for example : Luke had his hand blown off in India, We don't want anything happening to you at all esp not to lovely children.
In any case, the ledge did not give enough all round heat so the upper ingredients were never going to cook in a short time. Or put in semi cooked vegetables and then they will finish cooking in the tagine (I've written this comment three times and this is the kindest I can make it).
Thanks very much for your tips and care about the kids. We are lucky it was an empty section on the other side of the wall and definitely no people there - we couldn’t put it anywhere else as it was in reach of the kids on this side. Looking forward to trying again though! 😊
Beautiful good luck ❣️😊😊✊
Les deux tajines ont l'air délicieux..
Great videos guys. Love it! Regarding the tagines, I wanted to offer some insights that might help.
There are actually two types of Tagines available in the market. The first type is the one that you have, which has a ceramic bottom that is rough and does not transfer much heat. The other type is called the "beldi" Tagine, which has a bottom that is not covered with any ceramic, but rather it's made of pure clay.
The "beldi" Tagine allows the heat to distribute evenly throughout the food. However, if you decide to get one of these, there are a few things to keep in mind. Firstly, it's important to cover the bottom (where you put the food) with olive oil and let it rest overnight so that the Tagine can absorb the oil. This will help prevent the Tagine from cracking due to extreme heat.
Overall, I hope this information is helpful and allows you to enjoy cooking with your Tagine even more!
Pumpking are only used in Couscous! Not tajin but who knows it could be delicious 🤗
You're the best familys
delicieuse food
Thank you 😋

Ahh good idea. Thank you.
Great idea!! 😊
😂😂😂they seem pretty looking indeed, but not sure they were ready to serve. Needed more time, more charcook and maybe a little hot water (never add cold water😉). Good vibe and ambiance!guys!
Thanks @Jupiter that sounds like good advice. We didn’t think to add hot water but agree that sounds like a very good idea 👍

Good
Lol..u guys are so funny..Tagine have it’s secrets ..have fun guys ..and sheers to MorAco. .i do fallow for a long a go
Great video 🥳🥳
Yassalam
I LOVE this family ❤️❤️❤️🇲🇦👏
I am from SAFI,wishing you good 'day...
Hello in Safi and thank you very much 😃
Good starting point for the Steiners, in my opinion to make Tagine it is necessary to keep in mind few principles , proceed with layers, the first layer should be oil, better olive oil, or mixed, then a layer of onion rounds, then the meat, the rest is placed following the cooking time of each ingredient, and the decoration should also be taken in count. For the spices and salt it is better to mix all in a small quantity of water and dispatch them on top of all ingredients, herbs are added on top at cooking end, so they keep rich and fresh. Have a good stay in Morocco, you are more than welcome.
Thank you 🙏 I’d love to cook for a local family one day.

if you notice your tagine is dry you have to put some water. vegetables are cooked through steam 😊. it was an amazing experience.
Thanks for the tip! A good thing to know. We will have to do a second round for sure ☺️
