I had the SNES version(a legendary copy in my town in fact), the PSX version, and have the DS version. I play this game at least once a year. I fucking LOVE this game, and this ending accentuates that.

it's so weird to me that akira toriyama, the guy who made dragon ball z, just worked on this game that I've been hearing about for years. I literally thought he only did manga and stuff at the time, but I guess I was super wrong
By then, Toriyama had some wide renown, so he was definitely in demand for all kinds of projects. He was also involved in the Dragon Quest games before this. A fun thought: Chrono Trigger was conceived by its creators in 1992, Toriyama among them, just as DBZ's Artificial Humans saga (featuring time travel) was also being drawn up. Perhaps some cross inspiration there? 🤔
