+Ralph Rexx Nah not at all really. Even though I'm picking quite hard, my arm stays surprisingly relaxed so there's no pain there. The only time my arm hurts is when I'm playing something super fast because my arm tends to tense up haha
How do u keep the other strings from ringing bc I can't stop them from ringing if I play with a pic
I mute any strings that I'm not playing with my left hand. So if I'm playing the A string, I'll hook my thumb over to mute the E string and mute the D and G string with my fingers. That way the only note that'll ring out is the one you want to play. Hope that helps dude :)

I've always had this dilemma with MCR songs: why don't you see the bass in most songs? That is, if it is not heard, what is its purpose?
songs don't sound complete without the bass, the bass gives the song a sense of fulfillment. think of it as a choir, you have your sopranos, altos, baritones, and tenors (guitar) but you'll always need to have a bass.

Lol me too, my mom would only get me a good one if I didn't take lessons and so I taught myself. Felt much better than being taught.
how do i get such pretty deep notes off my bass?
i got a old 5 string but even the deepest not dont get that nice deep urs does and if i try to get close it gets rly rly lose and seems like itl fall off the neck and get weird is it the type of strings u use?

Ted Slife my strings were like 3 days old at the point of posting that but i found out how, u turn on overdrive and it sounds great (just a bitch messing with sound to make it so it works and sounds good but isnt so loud my naibors will bitch lol)

This bassline is amazing in A E A D tuning (4 string converted to B E A D and B string tuned down 1 step), the lower tuning really works for this song!!!

Nice dude. Besides all the punk and alt rock and stuff, are you into any of the metal bands? Ex: Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, even RATM?
Thanks! I like do listen to a bit of metal every now and then. I fucking love Maiden, I dig early Metallica, I like the few Slayer songs I've heard and I like most of RATM's hits, although I haven't listened to any of their other stuff. I also dig Cancer Bats, In Flames, Mastodon, Gallows, The Killing Tree, Pantera, Rolo Tomassi and Mongol Horde. Most of them probably aren't actually metal but they're as close as I get haha!

How did you start learning bass? what did you practice?
I started just by playing the lower strings of an acoustic guitar my dad got me along to simple punk songs, then I bought my first bass and took it from there! When I started out I was playing a lot of Green Day, Ramones, some of the easier RHCP songs and stuff like that
