On behalf of all Bama fans, congrats to Michigan and best of luck in the Natty. I'll admit i was highly skeptical of Michigan's defense cause i thought it was a reflection of a soft schedule. And i didn't think the Michigan O-line could dominate a top tier SEC D-line and questioned if Corum could have success. I doubted JJ McCarthy's clutch gene in a close game. I thought they stylistically were just a lesser version of UGA....but boy I'll be the first to admit i was wrong. Michigan checked all the boxes, dominated the line of scrimmage and earned it. Congrats Michigan 👏🏼

Michigan's defense was the clincher... they had Milroe's number... they not only sacked him numerous times, they completely shut down his ability to run the ball and covered his ability to throw the ball... and, I am a Bama fan... I was impressed... Michigan deserves their place in the National Championship game and Washington has its work cut out for them.

Georgia fan here and wanted to add to your comments when I saw you are a Bama fan. First, tough loss to swallow (no shade thrown, I was cheering for Bama as a SEC fan). Second, the MICHIGAN OC Moore and DC Minter - the two Coordinators are the true heroes for that game and one of the biggest factor in Michigan's success. Moore and Minter outcoached Bama's OC Rees and DC Steele the whole game. You may know this but DC Minter is from Baltimore Ravens defense who schemed against Lamar Jackson in practice (Jim's brother is the HC at the Ravens and Todd Monken - former Georgia OC works there now). So, I was not surprised that Milroe was having a very long day at the Rose Bowl. Michigan's whole back story of how it was re-built starting in 2020 is cool story if you look into the details. Jim Harbaugh almost got fired as the Michigan HC and he called his brother in the NFL for coaching help to be sent to rebuild the team to beat OSU and the rest is history. Any way, Roll Tide~ until our teams meet in 2024 regular season in Tuscaloosa. Go Dawgs~!!!

I gave Michigan zero chance of winning this game.
I also feel that the level of perfection these games have been played at over the years is somewhat disheartening. Just seems to be a game of perfection and zero tolerance for human error.
This dynamic often steals the dream knowing we are all imperfect.
This game was perfectly against that idealized world.
Not perfect. Full of human error and drama still yet admirably played.
Michigan flat took it to them.
I’m an Alabama fan. Started out watching them play college football when they were having a very rough time.
Never watched Michigan too much. Just didn’t have the time for the teams I do follow.
They sure won me over with this one. Made me enjoy the game that much more.
That Blake Corum is something else! Mighty, courageous and his foot work is unbelievable.
JJ McCarthy….. can’t go on enough about the character that was seemingly on display during the game.
I witnessed moments where I thought that the mental mistakes would take their toll on his ability. Not at all. He put it behind him and picked it right back up and went to work.
That quarterback throwback play for me was the play of the game and McCarthy had to eat dirt to get it done.
This is a great team this season. I’ll have to be rooting for Michigan this year. First for me.

All we’ve heard the entire season was “Michigan hasn’t played a good offense”
“Michigan can’t win without stealing signs”
This is why Michigan fans have ignored everyone crying and whining. We know how good this defense is. We’ve watched them eat every offense for lunch and bama was no different.
Give them credit or don’t give them credit. We don’t care. They’re the best defense in college football this season and you can keep crying about it.
We’re tired of everyone else’s excuses why they can’t beat Michigan. Lies through the media, fake scouting outrage, take away their head coach for 6 games and try to derail the players that have worked their butts off all year. None of that worked.
This team is focused and are ready to bring the NC back to A2.

I thought Bama giving the ball to Michigan was the sign of a the Tide coaching scared. Teams that play to win always accept the ball and score tk out the opponent in their heels. I assume Bama wanted to get the quick stop and then win with a FG; I think they thought they also had Michigan on the ropes after that point return fiasco to end regulation, but really their defense had just come off of allowing Michigan to march down the field and score the tying TD in barely 2 minutes, so momentum was really in favor of Michigan’s offense. Bama made a bad call to defer

The major key to the game that Joel missed is SIZE and conditioning. He mentioned the line play for Michigan but compare the size differential between Michigan’s linemen and Georgia’s linemen two years ago vs the differential between Bama’s lines and Michigan’s this year. Bama was still bigger but not by 40 pounds like in 2021. And Michigan’s strength and conditioning program has improved dramatically

S&S helps most definitely but having players come back for one more season instead of going to the NFL helped increase the level of experience (experience beats pure physical athleticism most of the time) and talent in the team. This helped with DEPTH which Michigan learned from Georgia in 2021. Georgia's huge depth from recruiting helps them to rotate in FRESH Defensive players at every play which overwhelmed Michigan Offense in 2021. Plus, DC Jesse Minter is from Baltimore Ravens (known for great defense and Lamar Jackson). DC Minter knew how to contain and attack Milroe by treating Milroe like a lesser version of Lamar Jackson. Michigan D sacked Milroe 6 times in Rose Bowl.

Just saying "Alabama" (football) sends shivers down the spines of every other college football team in the country, that's how they're perceived and respected. As an alum and big fan, I just braced myself for Michigan to lose this game. To have beaten Alabama is almost unimaginable, and they did it with all those uncharacteristic blunders on special teams plus an offense that didn't play their best. It's time to prepare for Washington. Michigan is favored. Watching collegiate football doesn't get better than this. Go Blue!

Alabama didn't beat Michigan in special teams. Michigan beat themselves in special teams. All of those were unforced errors and Michigan gave up what would have been an 11 point differential in their favor. 7 pts (alabama td from muffed punt), 1 pt (mich messing up point after td), 3 pts (mich missed field goal). Alabama messed up with their low snaps and a fumble but those were not nearly as severe as the Michigans errors.
If neither team makes the mistakes mentioned above, Michigan likely wins with double digits. Without Michigan's unforced errors, Alabama would have been severely outplayed and Michigan would have dominated them.

I still say that 4th down catch wasn't. And I'm an ALA fan. GA & ALA had 4 common opponents and GA vastly outperformed ALA vs 3 of them, but AUB gave both GA & ALA a good game. People trashing on AUB don't realize that a team can have a bad game or two. ALA had maybe four games w 400 yards and got out-gained a few times. GA had 8 or 9 w 400 and several were 500/600 yards. ALA wasn't very good this year, but I still somehow picked them to win a close game vs Mich. doh.
