I am so happy to have found a video showing traditional hand inletting techniques! Almost every source I have seen on inlay simply states to cut the inlet with a router or rotary tool, but I've been wanting to learn the old-school way!
Fascinating work. It looks so easy in this video. It makes me want to try some inlay work. Now I need a really sharp knife. Any recommendations for one?
charlesleseau Yes, I saw that but there was a double blade knife for making parallel cuts and a knife to clean out the tulip out to the outline. Those are the ones I’m wondering about.
WB Fine Woodworking .... the "double bladed knife" looked more like a double bladed marking gauge to me... followed by cutting with the knife... but u could make a knife with 2 blades quite easily I imagine...😎

@@wb_finewoodworking for the double blade you could use a pair of dividers. It would achieve the same result.
Cómo se llama esta técnica de trabajo, que material es el de la incrustación, y cuál es el pegamento que uso?
What tools were used in that video?
Where did you buy your double-bladed knife please….or is it a home made tool. Many thanks.
I was always questioning how to maintain proper depth
