Build a storage building near the mine. No more bears will spawn and since all storage buildings are connected you can unload when your full in the mine. Then run back in and fill up again.
That temperature went up as you were putting on clothes. So I think that was your body temp or something like that. It went from the blue to the green as you put on the coat, and then even higher when you put on the pants.
Kage, I’d wait on building the houses until after spring starts. You will have to pay full tax on the building even if it’s not complete. For herald quests you will to do at least three then you can officially make a town and have a carriage fast travel point. Also if you complete the challenge it will lower your taxes for a season and if you have a good king it will increase villager mood (bad kings reduce mood)
If it's the last day of a season and you are out mining you can stay in the mine until the season flips over and it will teleport you back home. I like to fully overencumber myself just before the seasons change and that makes it easy to bring tons of stone home from that one trip.
I love this game. First information that you were told wrong is stealing. You DO loose reputation. Last year I tried it and lost reputation. I deleted and started my game again. You did not have to go to that cave to get copper. Get that extraction building unlocked. Now you can set people to get copper. There is a cave out back of peistovia, out the gate that has horses. You can get copper in there. There are no bears. Keep up your videos, I love how you play. Yes, this is a survival game.
Storage tip for mines...If there isn't enough room to build a regular storage building near the mine, just build a Food storage building since it has a smaller footprint. Even though its meant for food you can still put whatever you want in there (copper, stone etc) then when you get back home just move it to the regular resource storage. 👍
If you put storage boxes near the entrance to the mine. When you mine say copper and you end up with a load of stone, you can store the stone, copper, tin etc and then when you need say the stone, you can just go and pick it up until you get the proper mine and storage building built. That’s what I used to do
As for the villagers comfort. I also like having a common area where they can gather when they get off of work or before they go to work. I just put a campfire down and put some benches around it they will be happy to sit down and chat amongst each other
For every workstation building you should have a house for its worker, although in the beginning you can stack workers in houses, by having a family business, you can have a workshop worker and an accessory worker for other tasks. Also, for a more natural feel, small homes should all have farm patches or other resource gathering. He's the smith, she tends farms/chickens/etc in the family. If you can, steal a crossbow, with copper arrows you can 1-2 shot most big game in the head. Looking at the temperature chart the arrow above the color bar I think means what range you are currently... So once you put the pants on, where the top end was 12C... the bar had bleu, green, red... if the arrow is in green you are good. Blue or red means you will either be cold or overheating. So 12C is the burning alive in your clothing level for current weather. Since the current weather was 0.9 degrees, you were in the green.
Hey Kage 👋🏻 There are backpacks and other things out in the world. You need to search abandoned houses etc to find them. There are some really great finds. It's better than spending money when you don't need to. I expect there's a place online that tells you where to find the large backpack. There is also money led around in the abandoned houses too! 💰 Also, salted fish 🐟 is a good money maker once you get to the fishing hut! 🎣 You can catch fish yourself in early game and roast it to make money too. Although you don't get as much as you would from salting the fish. 🙂
Hey Kage, love your videos please keep up the great work, also I think how the temp works is when it's in the green area which I believe it means you can handle that temperature rather be it hot or cold depending on what your wearing. Idk but that's just how it seems to me
A lot of people saying to turn on fast build, fast craft, unlimited carry weight. My 2 cents is do what you want, it's your game and you should have fun. Really I enjoy watching and listening to your video for the rambling and thought process. If you sped everything up then we'd lose the thought process or you'd just be standing there anyways while talking. Multiplayer question: do you know if players share skills, technology and dynasty points?
All the talk about creatures in the woods and caves reminds me of the movie "Prophesy" with Talia Shire, Armand Assante and Robert Foxworth. A great PBE film [i.e. People Being Eaten.]😉 Well yeah, I'd certainly say you need better pants than *those* for cold weather...exposing half your legs there! But the new ones seemed to be worse for some reason...unless I'm misconstruing what the numbers mean. You and I have the same ambiguity confusion there. I do agree with others who say the videos should be longer. An hour, even 2 hours, would be really nice! 😁
You can also upgrade workshops storage etc, For instance if you have a smithy built and have just unlocked the smithy 2, just hover the smithy 2 building over the smithy building to upgrade it
You don't do quests for the money, you do them for dynasty rep. Without dynasty rep people will not come live in your town. If you want more people you have to do more quests. You can put points to help regulate temperature.
A trick I saw for dealing with weight limits ... you can buy or steal a big basket. You can then fill the basket with stuff and then pick it up and run with it, lol. It works good for things like stone and metal ores ... not so great for logs and such.
You can also buy the pike perch from the man who sells fish in the main town cook them in the sick house and resell them back for a huge profit. It’s not really cheating in my opinion because you’re providing a service you’re cooking the food. You can also loot the main guy’s house in the storage for a huge chunk of gold.
A safer way to get the copper you can do what I do sometimes and go to the town below you and just before the town on the right there is a mine it has tin copper, iron and salt deposits. I usually just get enough of all of it to make bars and sell. Plus no bears 😅. Just a thought.

Kage there's also a full mine near skauki that gives you access to iron, copper and tin. So every season you can mine it. In the other caves you can get copper and tin but no iron till you can place your own mine.😊 There are 3 free large simple backpacks in the game. 1 is under the walkway in the swamp it also has a pouch, the other is in a cave near ostoya on the north west side along the road that goes around the lake, theres also a loadstone there that sells well. Plus there is another one on the same road to ostoya but keep heading past the town to the south go past where the goats and sheep are grazing. It spawns there randomly and it will usually have a small pouch with it. Also increase your barter skill as soon as your able that way you'll get more money when you sell. The inspect mode shows you the ore really well. Also you'll know if there will be any wolves or bear as they will be at the entrance they aren't deeper in a cave, there could also be a few dead deer which will let you know there's wolves tho to be fair they attack straight away. In saying that you could run away. And if you place a road or building near the mine the bear will be gone next season change.
Easy way to cheese and hunt bears and other big scary prey early on, just make a little square stick fence. They can't get at you, and you can just spear them to death.
Kage, dont skip out on the kings quest. If you dont do it you lose dynasty rep, get worse standing with the kind which will make taxes more expensive, and itll hurt your villager happiness. You also need to do a few quest for the king to officially name you town.
I use the workshop to make wicker items to sell for $. Sticks are well, free. And baskets only need 5 to 10 sticks. Better exp than hand crafted stuff and build fast. Good early game $.
As a small clarification about stealing and reselling. You must NOT be caught stealing to have no repercussion. If someone sees you take the item, you can still sell it in another town for profit, but you will loose Dyntasty points at the moment of theft. So make sure you aren't caught.
Usually at the season change in the early game I will go to the cave and mine as much as I can carry and put all the stone salt tin and copper in a pile and just before the season changes pick up all the stuff and get teleported back to my bed use that game mechanic to its fullest
There's a bar that has red green and blue on it if you're in the green your temperature is fine adjust your clothing accordingly to get the bar in the green
Kage you place building so close and it will became a issue when you upgrading storages and smithy and some of buldinga..In New update you can update your level 1 to level 2-3 not tear dowun the bulding..when you upgrading it take a little more space..keep it notice when you put dowun buildings next time
I first tier skill till max for the xp bonuses but also do others as needed plus questing early I think will help later and u should at least look into the donkey but u will need to do your own farming to get the donkey hit and bottom right in menu u can drop stack hold X

The sickle was worth more because it needed a log vs a stick for the items at 110
There is a free backpack under the walkway to the crazy guys house in the swamp. The swap is the red square north by northeast of where you are

You have to do the kings quest to unlock stuff for the village you need to do quests so you can get dynasty rep for getting new people

Your town already looks so good. Even more because not everything is lining up perfectly. Its more realistic in my opinion

for "honest" coin early game use your extra leather to make and sell simple bags. you can make those in handcrafting

I went with full production of wagon wheels, cheap to make and gets good amount from selling
Start Building your villagers houses next to where they are going to be assigned to work. it will save time for them to produce what you need

normally I don’t steal in games but the castellan pissed me off so i rob his house every season, he has pretty good stuff.

When you get the excavation shed your villager can get copper without needing a mine.
To avoid future animal spawning, just 1 piece of fence in front of mine, as close as possible 🙂

1 Stupid tip, for better night vision, for a video or for us the spectators, in Settings > Graphics > Brightness =130-136. 🙂
Turn on unlimited carry weight and you can get everything in the mine and it's not cheating it's a smart way but I know you will not
Don't worry about animals in the caves if you don't see them at the entrance or see dead animals at the entrance or inside. Just mine.
