I just bought one and boy do I like it. I came from a GTI and it has plenty of power from that boxer even though the CVT makes the driving experience a bit uninspired. I think a tune on it will really unlock it as a sleeper.
There are two transmission control modes. Button by heated wheel button. Intelligent mode for economic operation and sharp for no lag on quick start. Also manual shift mode. I prefer to ease into turbo boost at intelligent mode. Plenty punchy and rapid acceleration. Overall a joy to drive car.
I’m probably getting this because I want a 4WD sedan with the bigger engine. All the cars that compete with this only have their smaller engine with AWD.
I have the exact same car, and I like it a lot. BUT...I am still waiting for someone to discover the Sport Sharp mode!!! You have to understand that this is the only Legacy that has that feature. And it turns this car into what others have referred to as "the gentleman's WRX." ALSO, you should use the paddle shifter. You really don't know what this car can do until you use the paddles and pair that with Sport sharp mode. in S# the car comes alive. Please please please check that out. I am not kidding when I say that I could make 0-60 in the mid 4 second range. No lie. It didn't take long to learn how to use the paddles to achieve that. Be aware that this CVT is the best out there, and is beefed up for this model.
@@dwightevans8545 Very good car. Very comfortable. Plenty quick. Lots of shove out of that 2.4 turbo. Handles fine, lots of grip, but not much feel from the wheel. The two weak spots for me so far... The phone charger mine was optioned with will cook phones. I removed the rubber mat and switched to slow charging by wireless and that mitigated it a bit. Also, the response is a bit spooky in Intelligent mode. Just fine for normal cruising, but if you ask for a bit more, it doesn't always know what you want. I make LOTS of use of the S/I button to keep the engine ready for what I want from it.
The twelve volt in the center console isn't the only 12 volt in the front of the cabin. There's one in the glove compartment as well. Though it's tricky to use because the left rear corner of the glove box covers it slightly when closed. I tried hooking my dash cam into it on my 24 Legacy Sport i just got at the end of December 23 and the way the cord is designed wouldn't allow the glove box to close.
Thanks for the review...I am considering one in the future...seems like a good balance of features and with that sleeper vibe...super understated. How was it in the turns?
you look at this car and it's kinda meh. design - meh. interior - meh. cvt - meh. i just can't find any descent reason to buy one except if you are a fan of subaru.

Nice concise overview.

He literally mentioned the Sport mode.
I had that on my 21 Forester Sport and now my 24 Legacy Sport. Not really a hidden feature.
@@EricGrassi I missed it.
How do you like your car?

@EricGrassi awesome description!
I feel you! Let's keep our Legacy Sports. Bad news in future for people who owe a lot of money on their car loans.
@@dwightevans8545 totally agree with the shifters and the sport sharp.

It handles pretty well. It’s by no means sporty though
I have one. That color, too. VERY grippy. Not a lot of feel.
I have one man it is incredible in the snow, but not very fast. Overall i love it
Does the 2.4 have the same silicone-in-the-oilpan problem as the BRZ ????
The infotainment system is a big turn off. They should redesign that or at least improve the user experience. It's so laggy
So so laggy
Can my 6’3” nephews sit comfortably in the back seat?
Depends on your definition of comfort. It’s not bad leg room, but for long distances it might get a bit tight
Two yah but 3 might be uncomfortable
why must they have paired it with a cvt....put it in the trash.

Front end is too busy.
Why ?? It's no different than what Hyundai or Toyota have done, at least this still looks like a normal car.....
