Hi Mike. Certainly a great deal of time and effort went into creating this fantastic video. I certainly enjoyed watching it and thank you for sharing it.
love your vidio. as a young fella i sometimes travelled as an apprentice diesel mechanic,on the "silver city comet" , between parkes & broken hill. i got to travel up front, next to the driver & observe the beautiful scenery first hand. greatest days of my life & since then, i really enjoy your type of content. please keep up the great work!! most relaxing & interesting to watch.
Superb effort Mike. I took my wife and her two sisters on the Pichi Richi Railway a couple of months ago and it's a great ride. They are from Hong Kong and so it was unlike any kind of train experience they'd had before. So good to see it's expanded in recent years to make it all the way to Port Augusta.
Brilliant video as always Mike. Loved it! I see you found the old turnstile at Quorn & the forgotten tracks heading east away from the station. I've heard that loco sitting next to the water tower, is a sister unit to Peronne at the NRM!
Very well done. Love your drone shots and think I saw you at railfest I was chasing trackside Saturday in uniform as one of the volunteers on the Sunday. The inside carriages and cabs is not normally part of workshop tours. Lovely work keep it going mate
Thanks! Compliments such as these, from you as one of the amazing people that keep the show running up there, are very highly regarded and very much appreciated. I'm pretty chuffed. 😊
@@Outdoorstype no dramas mate I’m one of many and film plus research a lot into the history all the time take it them form possible truths but love volunteering up at pichi richi head back up in a week for a week holiday up there. But I do film when I can between volunteering and other things
Watched many of your vids now & always look forward to the history lesson. I only had a passing interested in rail but now thru your vids am a bit more enthused. Im a patriotic croweater, though I'm now retired & living in Queanbeyan. Theres an ol family story of my grandfather who was at the helm of SAs largest steam train that was derailed i think near Bordertown. My grandmother had a copy of the accident report... unfortunately lost to time. It was also mentioned in a book she had. I'm sure it was called Rail Accidents in South Australia or something... Do you know this book & how i could find out more about that incident. His surname was Sharrad (my mothers maiden name). The large Sharrad family started with two brothers from Kent, one had 11 sons, the other 7 sons... now their offspring has infiltrated every state & territory. Another sad incident was a young Sharrad girl lost her life falling from a train at Tailem Bend. Anywho keep up valuable work! Cheers.
Absolutely Brilliant.
You should be very proud of this video
Well done mate!

Probably one of the best railway videos on RUclips.
That's a pretty awesome compliment! I am humbled. Glad you think so!

That would have been so interesting, coming from a heavy duty and crowded metro system, to one so antiquated but full of life in so much space.
Brilliant video as always Mike. Loved it!

Thanks! You always add some interesting connections I wouldn't have otherwise known.
