i had a spotted saddle mare that i had rescued and trained and did 4 months of ground work with her... she still bucked the first time i got on her. it was amazing tho after she bucked and reared a little she just stopped and ever since then she has understood that i didnt hurt her and its ok for me to up on her back. sometimes they jus gotta buck a lil lol... cute horse she is nice.
Being an evaluation and not having the time to do enough ground work, kudos for 1 not having a bit in her mouth and beating the snot out of her for bucking and 2 for realizing (telling from your words in another comment) that she was scared and that more ground work was needed. Saying her fears were for nothing isn't really true though cause she was scared of you getting on her...and that is what you did. And being a prey animal fear is a first reaction. Showing her now that you getting on her is not a bad thing would take longer to achieve. You should have used the one rein stop to control the situation a little more. And i agree with JackaCrack1 you have gorgeous hair :) All my opinion and no offense of course.
She did have her ears pinned back and was scared. I did not do anything to hurt her. Her fears were for nothing. Her bucking was very specific to being ridden. She did not buck on the ground with no one on her back. I could have done a weeks more ground work and made the transition easier on the horse but this was an evaluation and I needed to see where the horse stood. It had been ridden before. It is only good when the horse gets to face its fears and learns everythings ok.
You're going to ruin this horse. Build her trust first!! When she has her ears back like thatbwhen you stand near her, it means she doesn't trust you. Before hopping in the saddle and letting her go crazy build her trust and she wouldn't do that.
i used to have a horse that bucked me like crazy

@xmenrvd It is not so much the breeding but the background of the horse that makes the difference. What experiences it has had with people.
hi you are doing a good job ,i allways think it is fun that nobody ask who had made the horse so bad,
