@@giorgiacantini7592 Dean was perfect in this movie and especially Giant where he plays a ranch hand. He got the Texas way of talking down. It helped that he was from Indiana where they have a southern way about them. A lot of people ended up moving down to Marfa, TX, the area where 'Giant' was filmed. All that blue sky.

American Film Institute left East of Eden off the list of the 100 best American films of all time. In regard only appear Giant and Rebel Without a Cause. The same happens in other relationships with less prestige but which serve as a reference for many moviegoers as The 1000 movies you must see before you die. I think these selections do not correspond to reality or to think that the general public. East of Eden is the best of the three films and also the best work of James Dean. The actor has worked on over 30 productions on TV and also starred on Broadway, but was in the role of Caleb Trask Dean became a star. His interpretation provocative, innovative and visceral, thanks in part to the text and the direction of Elia Kazan, was a milestone in the history of cinema.

Light in the Piazza their mother abandoned them after they were born. They grew up thinking that she was dead, but in reality, she was a prostitute, who worked her way up to owning her own brothel...actually, she got the brothel by killing its former madam. She was an evil, but fascinating woman, and her character was the most interesting in the entire novel in my opinion. In this movie, she is just a small side story, not very important other than Cal uses her to hurt his brother, who he was very jealous of.

Its set during the great war but we have 1950s hairstyles. All credit to Dean but Cal wasnt like this, and Aron was the blond good looking boy. Where is Lee, perhaps the main character in the novel or close to it.
