I made mine and crocheted a strap with a 3.5 hook and a half double crochet as my stitch. I wanted a longer strap rather than a handle because I use a walker to get around so I like the cross body conveinance. The size is great just big enough to carry my wallet phone and keys. Just made a version of this purse for my 7 year old niece. Loved it! Really simple and quick.

I also love browns....so soothing. You got me into trying this and I love it. I wasnt sure where to get handle stuff but have come to realize there are allot more options for handles then I could have imagined when I started. Crystal this is beautiful! Have you heard about the teacher in Africa? I can get more info if interested, but he took it upon himself to take in and teach a group of students who were otherwise to poor to attend school. He is looking for things like, blankets, hats, mittens ( who knew it could get that cold there), as well as anything school related.....back packs, pencils, notebooks ( wall Mart will have tons really cheap, or even the dollar stores). I thought it would be great if the crochet community could make stuff to send. I'm a newbie at crochet but willing to do my best. This handbag could be made into a backpack too😉
I clip off also and only use chain my foundation ring also 😊
