    For those who don't know 周文龙 , he wasn't a nobody. He was actually the same period with Lin Dan & has become his practicing partner in the national team. He actually won many tournaments within China including a few champions when Lin Dan was also competing during those years. That's why during the match, their scores were so closed & he took round 1 & almost got round 2 as well. But like many other international players in sports, injuries, body type & born physical type limit many of their development as years go by :-(
    Simply put it, he was like a shy, low profile player who didn't have the chance to step up & being sent to the world stage as often as Lin Dan, as the China National Team is such a huge team with so many competitions.
    His winning records include :
    2011年中国羽毛球超级联赛总冠军 (Champion)(代表青岛啤酒俱乐部)。
    2011年国际羽联黄金大奖赛俄罗斯公开赛男单冠军 (Champion)。

    Lin Dan is truly blessed with the talent, athleticism & fitness combined with looks to form the perfect athlete. You can clearly see he wasn't going full throttle, and beat this guy out of sheer fitness.

    • @ninomojo
      @ninomojo 11 месяцев назад +3

      He's not "blessed", he worked extremely hard for a sustained period of time of many years

    • @andycarollsuarez
      @andycarollsuarez 11 месяцев назад +3

      @@ninomojo So did many other players including LCW. What made him that much better than everybody else is his talent and athleticism. Those can't be trained or practiced.
      As a comparison, do you think all other runners did not work as hard or harder than Usain Bolt? Why is he that much faster than the rest? Same logic.

    • @ninomojo
      @ninomojo 11 месяцев назад +4

      @@andycarollsuarez Of course there is an element of "gift" from nature. But nobody chooses the cards that nature gave them, so why praise someone for that? :) But make no mistake, Lin Dan also had the best coache ever (whose name I forget) and Taufik even said his biggest regret was not getting the same coach. Lin Dan said himself that he SUCKED for a long time, and just worked incredibly hard.
      If you want an example of how working harder can be the decisive factor: Viktor Axelsen. Everyone works hard, no one works even close to as hard as he does. Be breathes and lives badminton 24/7 and completely rethought his whole life around it. He was already world ranked #1 many years ago when he was maybe 30% of the player he is today and would still mostly lose to LCW or Lin. Today there isn't a single person on the circuit who can beat him consistently. I think that shows that it's the hard work that he put since then that made him the new legend.
      When asked about Carolina Marin, her legendary coach Fernando Rivas said something like "She was gifted, but there are many other gifted girls. The difference is that Carolina has the capacity to work harder and harder".
      I hope that clarifies my thoughts. Have a good day!

    I always wonder whether Lin Dan has ever played to his full potential. He has come across to me as a Rishi, Muni or Monk who has to be respected. He has always given a great respect to all his opponents who in turn revered him. Perhaps, Lin Dan could have defeated many of his opponents with a huge margin. But, he has always given that space to his opponents. To me, Lin Dan is the Greatest of All I have seen in the Last 50 years. I have watched since Rudy Hartono days. Not sure whether any great player lived & played to that level before that era. Lin Dan is a Monk.

      imo lin dan´s peak was at the same time as lcw peak.. the all england final in 2009 might be the best match there ever has been imo.. i do believe we have seen lin dan at his best ever a few times, but honestly there is only one person ever to come close to him and thats lcw..

      @@kriskiellandLTS Yes. I agree that LCW came closer to him as the second best. From those days of Rudy Hartono to today, the power of equipment’s - graphite compound bats to nylon strings have all added the game to be more faster & tougher. Hence, I feel the current players should be placed higher in ranking for All Time Greats.

    lin dan is always amazing to watch. late in his career he became very calm and efficient, less physically explosive and less capable of winning against younger and faster players, but extremely mindfully present and centered. you see that here in the third game, where he assumes a command of the court in a way that was rivaled, only briefly, by kento momota. you see how he moves the highly skilled zhou wenlong around the court effortlessly until the poor guy cramps out. you gotta love the way he'll clear repeatedly deep into the same corner without any variation until his opponent's brain starts to normalize it and then he moves for the kill. that kinda thing can really mess with a player's processing unit. it's anyone's guess how long we'll wait to see someone with his levels of athleticism, skill, and lofty tactical powers dominate the courts so thoroughly and for so long. the undisputed king

    看得出來林丹一開始沒認真,差點翻車,後來認真以後,透過多拍拉吊,真的就像在練球一樣,告訴我們,丹神每天的練習量根本不是大家所能想像,周文龍最後一局右小腿整個抽筋,根本無力再回3號點的球,不得不認輸。每次有人說林丹打李宗偉以外的人都打超久,不像李宗偉能砍瓜切菜的贏下,我都暗暗的吃驚,丹神真的騙過很多人,自以為自己能拿下林丹的年輕選手很多,但⋯最終,林丹會穩穩的告訴你,實際上能撐完全場比賽的,真的不多,更別說要贏。至於比賽內容長成什麼樣,那是丹神的即興創作自由,跟吃瓜群眾的自以為是,沒半毛關係。
