  • Well the Airbnb time was over, 2 weeks went fast and we moved into a new apartment. This one is closer to Camp Humphreys walk-in gate (AnJeong-Ri, Korea) and a bit nicer. In this video we take a tour of the new place and talk about how much it is compared to the Airbnb we had. Most rentals here are for 1 year/long term rentals but we got a 3 month term. Hopefully our visas will get approved during this time and we can find a permanent place.

    I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for...

      I feel your pain mate, as a fellow retiree, I’d suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $30k in value stocks and digital assets, Up to 200k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes.

      @@SantiagoWyatt- The crazy part is that those advisors are probably outperforming the market and raising good returns but some are charging fees over fees that drain your portfolio. Is this the case with yours too?

    Great price, The Varied Life. Plus, as you said in the description, Camp Humphreys is nearby. Quite a few services are available to US Veterans at the base.

    Hi, I’m wondering if you used the temporary address for your residency card application. Is that good enough?

    Did you pay key-money as well as the $460/month?

    • @theVariedLife
      @theVariedLife  4 месяца назад

      No key money. Not normal at all for our location, very unusual to get a month to month rental with 3 month minimum. Most normal are hotel and airbnb rates which are much higher.

  • @doug2731

    $460 a month? My wife and I had to put a 20,000,000 won Wolse deposit and pay about $450 per month for rent. No utilities included. No deposit whatsoever? Just 460 a month and some small fees?

      Yea but this is a small one bedroom. Larger places like our 4/2 apartment we bought is more expensive.

      It was a few million won to hold then we paid about 10 million then the remainder at closing.

      @@theVariedLife Love your laidback commentary style, you may want to explain this in US Dollars as a few million won seems so much, lol, enjoyed your video and will subscribe. Good luck living in Korea, I am a second gen Korean that lives in the US and would likely retire in Korea as well. Appreciate the informative videos.

    So all the gun videos in the past meant nothing? I'm not sure If I can understand your "conversion."

    • @theVariedLife
      @theVariedLife  2 года назад +3

      Oh they meant a hell of a lot to me and my family but RUclips didn’t like them. I had over 800+ videos but woke YT police decided they were offending people. It really pissed me off and I fought for about 2+ years.
      Even though big YT gun channels and mine had similar videos on reviews, training, shooting, etc YT started striking my videos and deleting them. They even hit up and copyright claimed music that I had paid for (I owned the licensing, etc) and even sent them the receipt; even had the music creator send them a receipt and message but YT kept striking my videos and deleting them. I tried to appeal but that was when YT was taking down numerous small gun and gear channels. I got so many strikes from them they de-monetized my channel. Then they basically said if I didn’t get rid of my videos I would lose my channel altogether. I think I offended a few people by my religious, political beliefs and guns.
      I wouldn’t say I converted to anything as I still love guns, shooting, prepping, etc. Also during this time I reached out to some BIG gun channels to see if they would help but none of them would.
      So what else was I to do? Believe me it still pisses me off but hanging on to all that anger wasn’t helping me. So the channel name was changed and I decided to post videos of retiring early and traveling.
