Miss Lyn I love your videos!! You were the first youtuber I watched when looking for psych nursing videos. I’m a new grad and just started last week on the psych floor at a hospital. I’m in a new grad residency program and as part of my orientation I had to job shadow for 2 hrs in different units. I would get snarling faces when i said I was working in psych and comments like “i can’t work in that area” or “i can’t deal with behaviors”. I hear the stigma that we’re not real nurses but who do they call when they starting acting up and can’t deal with those behaviors? Our brain is a powerful organ and just like other organs one small defect can affect how a person lives and functions in life. I keep do keep my stethoscope with me because if a patient complains of a cough or congestion, lung sounds need to be assessed. Keep them videos coming! ❤️

Yes we do have brains, and do need them when a patent has a change in status. I wish you the very best in your mental health nursing journey.

That bag is amazing! I love that it is a perfect fit for you, and that it is so well organized. I am an occupational therapist and I bring my own stuff as well. I’m considering doing nursing now as I feel like I want to do more...long story but I love the medical field and patient care.
