Pretty nice thanks 😊
Thank you!
Nice information, am just starting with Networking, I installed 3 units of the 60f , they are doing great for 60 users buildings , but these users have 180 - 240 devices to toggle, I have main and backup ISP, and vpn between the three locations on each ISP, do you think I should continue using them for similar setup or use to the 80f or even 100f instead?
As you grow, upgrade the main unit hardware and start using the 60s as internal segmentation fws. There is a point where you outgrow their hardware capacity, but the principals stay the same whether it's a 60, 80, 100f, or 1800f.
Id look at segments that would do well with a 60s hardware. Maybe all the office vlans would fit well on it, or since the pandemic started a significant portion of this is vpn traffic, let's segment the VPN traffic to that hardware.
There are lots of options, but yes, I would upgrade the head end to more robust hardware. You want general hw utilization to sit around 70% max with the projected load 5 years (tco) from now. That should get it to the next hardware refresh. As long as the old head end is valid, repurpose it based on business needs. Hope that helps!
awesome, thanks
You're welcome!
Does this one need renewal annually?
For production workloads, you should renew it annually but it's not required
What's the firmware that you are using those units? I am currently running around 61 ones if those on 6.2.7
I have run 6.2 on the 60F models when they were first released in production. I have also run every version of 6.4 in production and that is currently what I standardize on. I am testing 7.0 on these units in the lab in anticipation of a production upgrade at some point, and they have performed well on the 7.0 firmware so far.
