Man, with that amount of bookmarks on the grid surely you could have used them as bounce spots to get a better distance or into an align point?

Not really. If we did that, after landing on a bookmark the entire fleet would be at 0 speed and could be probed and bubbled before we could accelerate and warp. Safest bet was just to slowly coast while aligning and killing tackle.
