There are some KPOP artists who were trainees in their company for even 8-10 years. Jokwon from 2AM trained for 8 years and Jihyo from TWICE trained for 10 years. Not saying anything bad about the artists in the U.S. just in case someone misunderstands my point. :P

Kids grow up going to karaokes, families go to karaokes, singing contests are given in most school activities, picnics, get togethers... you name it. I really think Korean culture promotes singing and people are generally good at singing there. Same goes for Philippinos. They are good singers and their love for music is well known.
