Beautiful car, really pops in that colour. I just picked up a 2004 111S with 37k miles. It's redefining my understanding of cornering speeds :-). Just need the dry spring/summer weather to arrive!
The reason they changed the grilles for mesh on later cars is because of updated safety regulations. They added something which says you should'nt be able to fit a hand in to the intake or engine bay etc (child safety nonsense blahblah). The louvre style grilles look better I think, probably better for cooling too.

Congrats on your 111S! The handling and steering feel on these cars is sublime. Enjoy it! The dry months will be here before you know it.
Cheers!
Nice car,I own a S😊 with 1zz engine, less hp but more torkey. Easy and cheap to maintain
Looks killer in red, love it
Thank you!! I agree. Red was originally not my first choice of color on the Elise, but it’s grown on me!
Love hearing six figure mileage on these things!
It gets a lot of love! It has been bulletproof too!
Hopefully oneday i can own one 😊
have you considered swapping the slotted grills for mesh?
I have considered it! I don’t mind the slotted grills but think mesh could look cool too. Maybe one of these days!
