In this tutorial, I will explain how to create the Origami Swan, which was originally designed by Robert J. Lang. This is an intermediate tutorial, in which I go step by step on how to convert your printer paper (if you are using one) into a square, and then finally into the Origami Swan. Some of the later steps creating the head of the swan are TRICKY, but if you are patient and practice you will get them! :-)
ALSO** The swan will FLOAT if you put it in water!! :-)

Yeah the part with the neck and head can be a little tricky because it’s more of an intermediate model. You should be proud you got it, the more you practice the easier it will become. Great job! 👏🏻🙂

I just got done making my first Origami Swan after 3 papers, and I think this guy did an exceptional job explaining step by step how to make one. The thing about tutorials is to talk and explain. I am glad you took the time out to explain every single detail RobH0629. Very much appreciated. Now I'm going to take the time out this weekend to try and memorize it.

Those instructions were pristine. I've only ever made a dinosaur on my own, and a boy from you youth showed me how to make a crane and a basic dragon, and alone I've failed at a shark, a frog, and seahorse a parrot, a sword, and a ninja star. That being said, im very proud of myself for doing an intermediate level swan

I'm 9 years late, but just started to think of making something like this. And I can say following you step by step was so easy, really good guide. Made my very first Origami, so thank you!
I just wanted to say that every time i want to make a swan i come back to this vid, and i am very thankfull for it. I don't remeber where i read about it, but it was in a book somewhere that said if you fold 1000 swans (ok it was cranes) you get one wish to come true (no cheating about wishing for more wishes etc). i may never get close to that, but i make swans, when i am sad, or when i am happy to remeber the things behind each swan. it's silly... i rearly make them, but when i do... oh then something big has usually came up... so thank you for the swans and the ride.
Super easy if you have the patience! made it in one try..

Thank you so much! This is literally the best tutorial I've seen in a very long time (in any category). I have never truly attempted origami in my life but I almost got this swan in the first shot! I made the tail end too long so the head was too short (couldn't even finish the last step) but if my first attempt ever was that close that means you made a wonderful video because I was not born with a talent for crafts or the patience for crafts for that matter...

I remember when I was in elementary and was trying to make this, and the joy of actually getting it right after so many attempts was just amazing. Now, I make fiery dragons, something I couldn't have made even in my dreams back then, and don't feel any sense of accomplishment...

This is SO amazing! Thank you so much for being a great tutor! It was my first time to do origami and I got the swan perfect! I'm admiring my work right now. And on, 6: 43, I admit that I had a hard time. I was like 3 times to watch how the fold was made before I got it right. Thanks again! I remember this tutorial when I first started making origamis. I remember I couldn't do it, but now, I can make the fiery dragon, devil dragon v1 and 2 and more models. It takes time and practice.

The Outside Reverse Fold was unclear. You went too fast and got way too close to the camera.
I messed it up too, and i literally watched it for 20 minutes until it worked. Now i've made an awesome one too! 😊
um there is somthing called a palyback speed button to slow it down

Hey, what did you use to speed up video when you were folding on both sides, because I noticed that alot of youtubers use it to show how they made something. Is there a specific app or editing process that you have to do?
Hey bro! I had the same problem once, but dont worry! Yes, you will need an app to fast forward! These apps Are called video editing app. There are some free video editing app and some which costs money. Example, there is iMovie. It costs $4.99. And there is viva video, which is free. I recommend iMovie as I have that. You might wanna check one of my recent video to understand about iMovie. Or you can search them on youtube. So yeah. Or you could use the time lapse mode, which they have on the new iPhone and iPad!

Swan was easy to make, and turned out great! I just find to pause the video every time a direction is given. And repeating the video/step. Overall an easy way to make a swan! Turns to be beautiful to! 👌👌
