What did you think of "Cake Boss"?
The cake boss is the fake of all fakes. Buddy has a warehouse full of pre-made cakes that is why they are not fresh,like he claims them to be. And he is a sore loser, especially when Duff beats him at his own game.
I think he has serious talent and enjoy seeing his team make beautiful cakes. Most bakers do freeze their cakes because it’s easier to ice them. Make your own if you want the freshest.

I used to love watching Cake Boss on TLC. Every employee had their own talent, wether it was baking the sponges, decorating, or washing pans, Team work makes the Dream work! I’m in the Uk. I wish Buddy and all his family nothing but the best in their future.

Buddy's bakery was good years ago when he primarily had Italian pastries and bread, but his cakes were never really fresh, because he never sold enough cakes to get fast turnover. It was because of the hype of the show, people from the NYC area would pay for the extremely overpriced cakes. He seems like a good family guy, I wish him well, but his cakes are not worth the high price. Go to a regular bakery, you'll get a fresher nicer cake for a much lower price.

I hear you exactly. I like Buddy a lot he's great. And I agree with you with the cakes right you don't get enough turnover so they don't sell and that's understandable in that sense. A friend of mine's wife bought a cake from the supermarket which it was his cake and it wasn't good at all I was very shocked but seeing what you said right now in this post confirms it.
I'm very happy he's got what he's got going on and I'm very happy of his success and he's very good. It's not like it was before you had just pastries and cake now it's birthday cakes big extravagant all this stuff and it can go downhill on the basics.
I was shocked when I visited in 2012 and there was no one outside the shop!! We expected a long line and were prepared to turn around and just visit Hoboken, but it was completely empty and we were able to take our photos and get our cupcakes - which weren’t spectacular, admittedly, just alright! I was used to seeing huge lines outside the shop from the show. Maybe we were just lucky? Still, Cake Boss is great on many levels 👍🏻👍🏻

Agreed. I visited one of the bakeries and was not impressed. NJ and NY have such amazing food and bakeries, and this place doesnt hold a candle to other places.

I used to watch Buddy vs Duff until my husband pointed out to me that every time Buddy lost he would have a temper tantrum yelling at the director, producers and he did this every time he lost, such a crybaby 😂😂😂😂
All I can say is that.If I was on a TV show.And I lost both of my parents.I’d definitely stop filming for a while.
His father had passed long before he started the show. He didn’t air the show for quite sometime after he lost his mom. You are someone that doesn’t realize reality tv shows aren’t actually reality tv, none of them are, they all are scripted to protect the people that are in the show. Therefore, your getting a depiction of what had happened so, you may not be always getting the complete truth on tv. More it’s been coming out some tell all lies on their shows and some are quite fake!

It doesn’t really matter what TV network a show is. As viewers, we hardly remember the network! But, we watch the show … wherever it is!!! So, The Cake Boss and his shows can go anywhere, and he will be watched!

His decorating staff is amazing! He knows his stuff. At the same time, because the bulk of the baked goods are made in Hoboken and shipped, you're not always getting the freshest stuff. I tried a couple of items from the Carlo's near where my mother lives. The crumb cake was okay; the lobster tail was amazing.
I find it amusing to watch him and Duff Goldman go at it. Believe it or not, Duff is the older of the two! Duff went through traditional channels to learn his craft, going to cooking school and such. Buddy learned his craft on the job. I think Buddy looks older because he's been through so much stress, and because he's much more of a Type A personality than Duff.
A lot of people still confuse Buddy's profession at this point, I say Buddy is a baker, but he is not a full fledged pastry chef

I really liked Cake Boss until I watched, Buddy vs Duff. My thoughts totally changed about Buddy because he’s such a sore loser and a big baby.
Yeah, also Duff had humble beginnings as he and his original peers were all self taught in baking, all of them came out graduating from art school so the education and career line was completely off initially
I loved watching the show and the family. Very talented man and a lot of his family and co workers🎂
LOVED the show! I think 2 things caused a great downfall. It seems when he built the big 'factory' to help with cakes, quality suffered for quantity. He kept wanting to go bigger and 'better' and it didn't work. The bigger the cakes got, the worse they looked. The shows with just the original Carlos Bakery cakes and pastries were the BEST! Second, I lost most of my respect for him when I watched Buddy vs Duff. His reaction to losing made me sick. I kept watching following seasons because I enjoyed the show, but it was obvious when he lost that he had a hard time controlling his outrage! You could see he so badly wanted to have a fit again and had to work HARD to keep control! I'm sure he was forewarned at EVERY judging. I still have those early years of Cake Boss in my heart and give the whole family my condolences and best wishes.

In my opinion, Buddy got "too big for his britches." He seems to have a big ego and the attitude that goes with it. He is enamored with himself and his abilities. When his show started I loved watching it and his creativity, but as time passed not so much. The last straw for me was during the first season of "Buddy vs Duff." He was so demeaning and arrogant towards Duff. I still can't get over the temper tantrum Buddy threw when he lost to Duff.
I agree! He's got a real swelled head and now nobody wants him! The show hasn't been on for years now. I used have respect for him but not anymore after he's thrown all his tantrums and fits. I love Duff! He's so humble and sweet! The way Buddy used to be in the very beginning. Oh how the mighty have fallen!

He has an extremely large ego. I lost respect for him on the first show of Buddy vs Duff when he got mad because Duff won and pouted like a child. Too many outrageous cakes that can’t be fresh.

So sorry to hear of the loss of Buddy's mom. I used to love watching The Cake Boss and I went to two of his shows and I have his book. I stopped watching it, as I no longer had cable TV and I started working a lot more hours, so I didn't have time to watch TV any more.

Exactly how I felt when I watched Duff vs Buddy. They're both good baker's, but Duff and his team really thought outside the box with alot more finer details and special effects. Plus, Buddy was such a sore loser...very sad to see.
I agree 100%. Buddy didn’t take his losses well at all. Duff was always such a gracious loser, although, I believe that he lost a few he shouldn’t have!!!

I love Duff; did you see the episode of the two of them and when they chose Duff's cake over Buddy's, Buddy stormed off the set huffing and puffing! How could you, I am God - no one does cakes better than me. Sickening.

Just like other cooking , baking shows. Gets stale the grandeur and less about real people that watch show. The flaws show more. Us regular people will go where the taste and price is right, hopefully kind people.

Thank you for thinking of the younger generation, as we live I in a different world today, they need the guidance, encouragement, patients. You are an outstanding man. Oh what I would give for a twist of your beautiful cake, it would be such an honour!!!.
I am a cake decorator too and he does a beautiful job, but no cake is worth tens of thousands of dollars!

You mentioned you were a cake decorator, this may be a dumb question, do you make cakes as well? I admire what you do, so unbelievable outrageously, outstandingly, beautiful works, its magical, you feel just as elated as a child, seeing the beautiful unique works that you are in awe, can't believe your eyes, its magical!!!.
Look 👀! At the end, his show was about family. Whose family would work as well together? Buddy and his family are used to rising together. That’s why I watched his show.
I'm from Hoboken and his cakes were not a draw to the bakery, everyone loved those Italian cookies. He's charming and not a bad guy, blue collar decent people. I am not a fan of frosting, the cakes are beautiful but I love just simple vanilla cake with whipped cream frosting, preferably from stop and shop which is a super market.
Their Italian cookies and bakery were not made at the bakery. They were outsourced and brought in ready made
I watched a few episodes of this show. His family were a bunch of whiners and that got on my last gay nerve real fast.

The show was interesting but Buddy always seemed kind of cranky to me, and too much into himself. I didn't know that since then these things had happened, like hurting his hand. For all the family though I hope things keep going well, but that none of the kids get pressured into a job they aren't truly interested in.

I only watched it because I wasn't able to get my cathartic release from Orange County Choppers because they ended that, watching them constantly squabble, yell and try to act all "'Ey I'm a fucking mobsta here!" was cathartic and a release to me.
I couldn't give a shit less about the show or people, because they all seemed like toxic personalities.

No matter what anyone says, I loved this show, him, and his family.
I’m not understanding why he sells those terrible cake slices in the vending machines? They’re super overly processed and literally everyone says they taste horrible. In the tv show he seems like a man that takes pride in his creations. But those “cakes” in the vending machine are showing the exact opposite. I’m wondering if he even owns the name “cake boss” or the rights to his likeliness, his voice, his image, I wonder if he sold that all for money. Something is not adding up at all
Also the false advertising on the vending machines, they’re obviously not fresh and they’ve removed the ingredients on the packaging. It’s literally full of processed sugar, dyes and corn syrup. He knows all of this and is fine with it. This image they make him seem like he’s this good honest family guy, it’s all bs.
Whats all the hype, cake and pastries wasnt even taste Good. Became commercialized and its not quality anymore..

Cake Boss was a great show I'm glad that I got to watch it Buddy had really good ideas on how to decorate cakes but his cakes were to sweet with the fondant and the frosting I'm glad that he recovered from surgery and good luck in the future Buddy I hope that you come back on tv❤
Yup, I remember this time slot. Buddy was quite a bit younger & so was the rest of the family. The whole family was in process of grieving over the loss of his mother’s death. So, ever since you’ve moved to A&E it may be harder for me to watch it. But congratulations on your successful journey in your business career. I will say that I really like your family cooking together when you do; yummy 😋! I’d really like to try out your foods along with your family members, cause you all really seem to be quite close to this day! That’s awesome! I wish my siblings would include me into their plans & holiday fun, but clearly they’d prefer not to because I don’t believe in their drinking alcohol drinking habits & their cursing speech, seems they’d rather not change their foolish ways in order to create special memories with me their youngest sibling! His giant cakes never looked good. I always thought they looked really bad like the artwork was never good on them and they were never realistic looking. There are people that do realistic cakes that do way better and don’t use all rice crispy and giant chunks of modeling chocolate. People that actually use cake. And also don’t charge thousands of dollars
Exactly what i say !! His cake look Super Tacky !! Wedding cakes look like they belong in the 80’s !! Duff is on another level compare to Buddy !!
i episodes they filmed screwed up and u can see inside the back of the cake. it was hallow. than they got to the destination and had the back covered. that ruin my thinking of his cakes. they dont serve the cake they make. they bring sheet cakes to serve customers. the big cake is more for show i think.
I definitely wouldn’t buy any of his overprices cakes, or eat at his restaurants.
@@yeseniaburgos8794 Nothing wrong with classical cakes, but his wacky cake structures are just wild in the ingredients; 40-50% of it are actual cakes while rest are fondants, rice crispies, modeling chocolates and isomalt sugar, no sane person will eat those things
Found a vending machine in Calgary , $7 a slice . It was good but not really fresh

The few times I watched this show he and his family were so mean and nasty to each other . The cakes never were that pretty either! I found these people so unpleasant!

I liked the show. Wanted the chance to meet him at his Ridgewood Location. But I met one of the winners of his challenge show.
In 2016 at my first job, SkyZone, we were told he and his family was a bad guest at the PineBrook Location.
He had the kids ask for water pitchers and paper towels. They then threw the wet paper towels at the host. As well as their cake. The host was a host from our location because no one wanted to host them at the pinebrook location.

The show was good at the beginning. Then it got too scripted. I stopped watching anything with him in it after I watched the Buddy vs Duff competition. Buddy is really just the biggest sore loser. His attitude when he didn't win a challenge was really off-putting, as was his smugness and ego when he did. He came off as a complete dick.
I wish I could order one of his cakes. I really enjoy the Cake Boss shows.❤
