    SWEET. You got a car that you fell in love with and now you have ZERO car payments. That's a win-win!!!

    Great video, your 1st auction car will teach you a lot. I know this video is 2 years old, but you saved around 500 by not painting the front bumper and doing the repairs yourself probably saved another 4k. I have bought 4 cars at Copart and would only recommend buying and fixing if you plan on driving them and not doing a quick flip, you will not get your money back plus people shy away from salvage titles.

      Thanks for the comment! Sounds about right. And I’m still driving it so I think it was worth it overall. Good experience at least.

    Great video! I picked up my 08 ML63 back in June, I've been really enjoying the car and its probably the best car I've ever owned for the $. It still came out less for most of the market on these, I found a extremely good deal when I got mine with only 75k miles. I would highly recommend checking the sam area for water leaks it can wreck havoc on these cars. I posted 2 videos on my channel at the time with the issues I dealt with after getting my ML63 and the leaks. You might also consider replacing the air suspension relay since these are known to go bad and can cause your air pump to run too long and burn out, theres a replacement hella relay you can buy.

      Thanks! And that’s awesome sounds like you got a good one. Thanks for the tips I’ll check out your vids and look into the relay...my compressor does seem to run excessively

    You don’t need to count the maintenance costs. Like struts oil brakes etc. pretty much any old car you buy will have maintenance costs. Some even need new tries and that’s like $1000. Excellent video.

    I enjoyed this ... Currently rebuilding a 2010 Lexus GS 350 I bought at copart originally to sell ... but after all the time and effort I think I'm going to keep it ... Just waiting on a drivers side headlight ... maybe I'll youtube my experience as well ... Great content.

      Mileage was ~122k and I don’t know if it ever had the head bolts replaced or not. No known issues w the cam adjusters either as far as I know. Runs well now, so who knows.

      @@monumentauto Cool currently deciding between this and a W166 ML63 .. hard to choose

    • @monumentauto
      @monumentauto  3 года назад

      I can’t say I know a lot about the w166, but if you have the money I might go for that just for improved gas mileage and newer technology with slightly more power. Driving around in traffic I sometimes only get 13-14mpg and it’s killing my wallet haha

    • @monumentauto
      @monumentauto  2 года назад +1

      Great question - I have no idea how much time is in it at this point. Not that many actually at the time of this video, I saved lots of time buying a used bumper that was already painted. No paint work done, just a small touch up on the front right fender and fender flare

    • @monumentauto
      @monumentauto  3 года назад +1

      It mean it’s definitely a fun car, but you have to have the budget for it. Everything Mercedes is more expensive than a non luxury brand, and everything AMG is more expensive than regular Mercedes. If you can sustain the maintenance costs then I’d say go for it! But in no way is this a cost effective vehicle haha. But I still love the ML63 :)

      @@monumentauto I bought a F350 dually off Copart, 1980s era. I won it for $150. Absolutely nobody wanted it. It was an old farm truck with low miles. I liked it because it had a 5th wheel hitch installed. It was listed as a no start and it had rotten tires. The no start was a mouse house in the battery and they nibbled on the wires, so just $5 in wiring, cleaning of all fuel lines and fluids, bought some spare tires from my junkyard for less than $100 just to test the truck out around the block until I was sure before spending $ on new wheels, then bought new wheels. I spent less than a grand or so all in. The less you pay on copart the better off you are. Travel trailers can also be gotten for a pittance as well, fixed, and flipped pretty easily.
      I also like buying work vans that are chock full of equipment just to get the tools and not caring about the vehicle. I spend weeks sorting out all the goodies in them, sell what I dont want, keep what I do want, sell the van itself as well, and make profit all over the place. Bought an old Comcast van for $500 that had triple what I paid for the van in cable spools and lineman tools left in the back, that kept me happy for awhile selling all that stuff on eBay.
