This was so emotional for me, a mix of the fact that she’s no longer with us and also that, not much has changed in Nigeria. All she said here in 1990 is still so true. Rest on legend ❤❤

We are still crying over what she complained about in 1990. Absolutely nothing has changed

    When music was message. ..
So sad we allowed things to remain the same after this prophetic song.
The media houses should be spinning songs like this back to back on the airwaves.
Thanks our great lady of songs. You live on.

Na wah oo. I was very little when this song was aired on BBSTv that later bacame EDBS nad later EBSTv. I never understood the language and as kids we werent keen about reading the translation.
Firstly its quite painful that most of the people who danced to truth/reality this song are now the one's who are living out the reality of what she preached. Secondly i see this song and most songs perfomed in the 80s and early 90s as warnings for the years to come. But we only dances to the rhythm but didn't understand their message and warnings. Lastly I pray that as she ended this song with a prayer, God will have mercy on us and heed to our cries.
Live on the Lady of Songs.
    RIP Christy Esien Igbokwe.

OMG!!! Finally. I have been looking for this song for more than 2 decades! I am soo glad. Never even knew it was sang by Christy. She definitely left us some hits. This was music of my childhood. Especially with my mother singing this and Seun rere amongst other songs. I'm so happy/relieved to have found this song. A patriotic one at that too. I suppose I can trace the root of chop and quench now haha. Thanks for this one. Made my day!

Its 19/04/2024, 30 years of me seeing this video. This last time I watched this clip, the message in this song was not clear as I did not understand the message it conveyed. I merely enjoyed dancing to the rhythm. Perhaps, we may have chosen wisely if this music was played in the last election. Nevertheless, Nigeria will and always will be great!!! God bless Nigeria!!! Rest on christy!
