One thing you have to give credit to Babs for is the way he developed Mitch Marner into a complete player (good pl'r). He was a great coach for the early years.

No. The guy who should have been fired is Dubas. Hes the one who blew his wad on 4 players, has very little offensive depth, shaky defensive and subpar goaltending, with no backup. Babcock got us here sooner than I would have thought in terms of the rebuild. So I thank him for that. However his methods were in danger of keeping a great group from succeeding. People say the leafs need better defense but I believe a coach with different vision is needed first before I can actually agree that this defense and forward group actually suck. I think they suck at abiding by what Babcock said because perhaps it went against everything they were capable of. Play to your strengths, don’t constantly play trying to improve your weaknesses. That’s how you lose hockey games and head coaching jobs.

I think Seattle should hire him. If I was them I would try to have him help build a management staff for my team. He might even make a great GM if he's interested. That would be something to see.
