I am a 35 year old male who has been struggling with a leg ulcer for about 2 years now and even went to a veinous surgeon who used a catheter to glue shut a main vain In my leg to improve circulation in my deep vein system (that's how the surgeon explained it to me) and I didnt see very good results from it unfortunately, I have also been a cigarette smoker since I was nineteen and recently quit and that has done more to help heal the ulcer then any other treatment that I have gotten hands down. It's almost completely healed now and I thank God every day for giving me the strength to stop smoking because I can tell you rite now that having a leg ulcer is one the most painful things I've even experience in life and not only the physical part either, your quality of life gets devastated and so hopefully this post can help someone going thru the same thing as I did. And let's be honest quitting smoking cigarettes has SO MANY more benefits then just helping heal a leg ulcer. Sorry for the long the rant I just wanted to share my experience in hopes it might help someone else out. Thx for the info also btw

Thank you for sharing your experience I have been suffering with this condition for 17 years, I've been smoking for 26 years it's been hard to quit the habit. It's been the worst hell on earth to live with this condition, I hope I can learn to live without smoking. It would be great to find ways to quit smoking that way I don't have to quit living normal life.

Dealing with a leg ulcer due to ankle fracture repair basically trauma to my ankle. I been receiving treatment from wound care center and wearing compression socks for 5 months now. Soon I'll be going in for laser ablation procedure for a varicose vein that lies underneath my ulcer. Can't wait for this to be over. Its depressing and painful to go through. I wish anyone going through this all the best. Stay prayed up!!!

My mom is 74 years old and she got a leg ulcer about 5 months now she has seen at least 4 different doctors, she even spent 6 days in the hospital but her foot still has not healed. She is in a lot of pain because of the ulcer. She has it cleaned everyday but it still is not healing. Thank you for this video. I wish I had watched it earlier. I had discolortion of skin but my skin doctor did not warn me about a vein circulatiin problem. Eventually this lead to ulcers on my foot and not leg. The duplex ultrasound showed reflux on both deep vein as well as superficial veins. Compression bandages helped the ulcers heal and now I wear compression stockings. Fortunately the ulcers have not returned.

After he taken a transfer I asked another Dr currently my family Dr, and he said it is varicose veins. Until then I never heard about it. 8 yrs ago my leg bled. Now when I asked my Dr if it is called ulcer he didn't respond. So this video shows exactly what I have, and I got a definite answer from you. You explained so well, thank you and God Bless you always.

Thank you for this information Doctor. I am currently treated for leg ulcers & cellulitis in both my legs just above my ankles. I was treated in hospital for 14 days, ceramide through a drip 3 times a day and visits to the wound care sister. It is a long time long way to go with my left leg, but my right leg is almost healed. It was extremely painful but much better now. My advice is, if you see anything that is not normal, seek medical assistance. I thought I could heal it with Bactroban and yes with Covid-19 so rive, I avoided any medical facility.

I had high blood pressure, Doctor gives me tablets to lower if, and guess what, went too low, and I got another ulcer on my ankle.
They take 3 months to treat wit or without a Doctor and I´ve been using thrombosis socks for about 18 years after having a suitcase fall on my foot, I had 3 X thrombosis.
If the skin starts to get painfull and you know that it will turn into another ulcer in the near future, I stimulate the bloodflow with a powerfull Magnet on the knotty skin.
Daft but it works. Mosty, the one I have now is being treated with iodine cream, I tried honey but it hurt like Hell.
I need exercise badly, but hard to walk with an ulcer on my ankle.
    Thanks for the video.

I first started getting ulcers on my feet and above the ankles as described in this video. At first I thought some sort of allergy, or insect bite was the reason for these awful, bloody, ulcers popping around my lower legs. When I say bloody, I mean blood would pour out of these ulcers. It would actually start with an uncontrollable itch in the area, which automatically I would scratch, but then it turned into a blister and when it popped, the ulcer would appear right after. I went to the ER, the doctor on base while I was active duty, and finally to a dermatologist, but nobody could tell me what it is I had, or the cause of such painful and awful things. About a week ago, another ulcer popped and this time I decided to go see the local Urgent care here is town. The doctor there is a previous ER Doctor and knows his stuff. Right away he told me there was nothing he could do for me, and to contact my primary care doctor and bring a paper he gave me. Turns out I have a problem with blood circulation in my lower legs hence water retention is creating this ulcers. By the way, I have been trying to find out exactly what was wrong with me since this first started to happened, 7 years to be exact, 2012 is when I first noticed. I am happy to know now what is causing this problem, but very disappointed about those times I visited all those places and no one seem to know what was wrong. Now I have this awful black marks all over my lower legs and the Ulcers do come back as mentioned in the video. Unfortunately, now they are getting worst and more painful than ever. Thank you for sharing this video. I hope others suffering from this awful thing get a better answer and fast care.

I am not a Doctor.I was caring for an old lady who had an Ulcer by her ankle for five years the Doctors couldn't heal it, and one day I was listening to a Surgeon on you tube he said after he does surgery to his patients he gives them large doses of vitamin D3 for them to heal fast.So I bought vitamin D3 and I gave her six thousand IU in the morning with her breakfast and four thousand IU in the afternoon for five weeks .Then her foot was healing very well so I started to give her three thousand IU in the morning with her breakfast and two thousand IU in the afternoon for two months. I noticed her foot was healing very fast. So I started to give her Three thousand IU a day now her foot is completely healed and she is taking one thousand IU a day.so that her foot will not break out. I have realized that most of these people are lacking vitamin D3.I am just sharing my experience.

Leg ulcers are painful and problematic. Caused by bad circulation, usually by surface veins. Those veins can be cauterized by a Lazer and closed off and rerouting the circulation to the deeper veins. In most cases, the ulcers will not heal without proper treatment.

I’ve learnt more about my condition watching this informational video than I could ever have hoped to hear from my Doctor. I’m at my wits end with worry and have just entered my 4th bout of Venous Ulcers .. it’s always the right leg and the pain is horrendous on the 5 ulcers I have right now,it wouldn’t be so bad if my practice nurses knew how to correctly apply a compression bandage but only a few hours after applying it,it’s around my ankles .. no support whatsoever ..

My hubby is a Quadriplegic and aType 2 diabetic who suffers from edema amd cellulitis). He is allergic to penicillin. He had a staff infection at his SPC site and after 3 lots of anti'b's it still came back so he gave in and took the ceflex, which, believe it or not, causes him to take cellulitis but no-one believes us because this is the meds prescribed for cellulitis. Anyway, the cellulitis caused blisters on his ankles (which he has never had before) and they burst, oozing a discutting thick yellow liquid. The hospital told me it was a venous ulcer and that it would take forever to go away. They gave him mega anti'b's and we went home (he didn't want to stay in hospital). So this venous ulcer was gone in under one month. I washed it every day and kept it coved and used a pressure stocking so I'm saying they were blisters.

The Lymphatic Equipment Co. Demonstrated how it works. I pray it helps I have suffered with VENOUS STASIS since 2017 God bless all of you having to go through this awful condition. Thank you for the information. I am in my 80's and had an ulcer above the ankle which developed after a bang on the leg in the garden and would not heal. I am permanentlly on low dose steroids (2mg.daily). After treatment for a few weeks at my local surgery, I took matters into my own hands. I used a very high strength Manukah honey, registered pure, and applied a tiny amount with a silver teaspoon directly on it each morning, after washing it with 50/50 tea tree oil and water, and then applying a melanin dressing. It was about an inch in diameter, and in 6 weeks was completely cured with only a small scar. I had lived in Australia during WW2 and my father returned after prison camp with many ulcers....all of which healed with good nutrition, and similar treatment. Mine was about 8 years ago now, and in spite of being disabled and unable to walk much, I have had no further trouble. I do keep an eye on my legs though. Perhaps this needs researching more?

Venous ulcers are caused by damaged vein valves. It can be seen on ultrasound and there is no way to repair them. The valves that stop fluid from going backwards do not function anymore. Superficial veins that are damaged can be closed off and the healthy veins take over. Smoking increases the risk of having this condition.

I had a venous ulcer 2011 at age 51 and it has never recurred. For some time before I had swelling around the ankle and for some years after it healed occasional mild pains in that leg. I wore compression socks religiously for 6 years. I have fallen out of the habit of wearing them and I am not seeing any swelling , eczema, nor feeling any pains. Am I taking a significant risk ? Also, a locum doctor once remarked to me that knee length socks were unhelpful, because they put downward pressure on the leg veins, and said he favoured a full leg compression sock. Long socks? Knee socks ? No socks ?
I do lots of exercise like squatting , walking etc and elevate my legs every night.

I'm currently suffering from Vasculitis Ulcers (4 year) since Nov 2018.
    37 years old male UK.
Stood up on feet for 11 hour in one spot 4days a week working in single digit numbers.
Lasted 5months before ankles swelled to the point I could no longer wear footwear and was unable to walk (bed ridden for 9 months before specialist doctors even looked at it (QMC).
Never had a problem before with healing and above low shin hight I heal very quickly.
I do wear compression bandages. Numerous wounds in total since start of suffering.
    Diameter/Depth and Location of wounds.....
Right ankle inner side.. 1x to the bone next to Achilles tendon 10p area in size. 2x smaller white spider trail areas beneath. (3mm in depth 1cm area 2022)
Right ankle outer side.. 2x 5-6mm area and depth wounds.(2021 healed).
Left shin... 4x ranging from 5mm-4.5cm area and 5mm-nearly bone in depth (2021 healed)
    Left foot side arch.. 2x into 1!! 5cm lenth 1.5cm height area 5mm depth. (6mm height 3.5cm lenth 3mm depth 2022)
    Left foot outer under ankle bone.. 1x 3cm lenth 1cm height 5mm depth.(4mm area 2mm depth 2022).
    Left foot upper to toe line... 2x 1x 5.5cm area spider 3-4mm depth.(1.5cm spider 2022) 1x 2.5cm lenth 4mm depth in 2021- ongoing)
    Treatment......
    Trimovate when bloodied.
    Flaminal hydro when yellow/green/brown stinky.
Used to use Synlar Gel but unable to receive medical supplies from Pharmacy
Bathed in salt water every 2-3 days.
    I am healing..... Slowly

Having a HUGE ankle ulcer and around 23 medium & small ulcers, all on my left leg cuz of SCA.
My docs say "It's fine, not infected & just keep changing it."
I've been going through this for a year and a half.
Tried everything, literally everything except the oxygen chamber.
I'm running out of money to keep buying supplies & I'm getting really depressed.
Haven't been able to walk outside for well over a year.
I hate my life so much... smh

I am on 2 years, and between Xeroform cases, Boil Ease creams, Tea Tree oil, bandages, Neosporin, sprays and tapes of all sorts, I've easily spent over $1,000 in 2018 so far. And does not heal. The pain is unbearable. I rather have my teeth extracted with a plier at my car mechanic's garage than this pain. No pain meds are strong enough. I might go over the wall to Mexico in search of someone in a cartel who can offer relief. Obviously, it's making me psychotic. The video affirms, but offers no solution to this suffering. A new wound opened next to the 9 inch one, and in less than a week has grown to an inch in width. Is there a cardiovascular in the USA that can help? Please no more Silverdiasol creams - they do zilch !

This is only the 2nd time that I have had them on my calf, and there is 1 on my right calf too and now 1 on my scalp. I am so sick of these, they take months to heal. I also get the ulcers in my mouth.

as I am on vacation from the UK/Norwich for a few months, but the heat there and
there mannerism to just wear shorts all day and night is cause for
problems, but I do thank you , he is 65 has had a stroke and bad heart
and now not wearing a crash helmet falling off he's motor bike and had a
head injury and will have a head scan at great cost, going back to the
ulcers, NIGHTMARE he bleeds easily slight knock and his skin seems like
paper,,,I will make sure he wears some form of bandage and stocking as
he tends to scratch the wounds....god knows I am trying to help him, he

I've got them now. After a debilitating car accident. In an attempt to self treat, became gangrenous. Dry gangrene. I was on the right track. Not treating aggressively enough removing dead tissue ( burns like heck.) Antibiotic cremes just made them worse. They'd dbl in size in 24 hr period. Extreme burning. Like my legs are literally on fire. They basically surgically skinned my ankles. 8mmx 11mm areas left & right. Removing gangrene. For 6 days packed the wound with gauze, 2xs a day ripping the gauze off pulling off dead tissue. Like being skinned alive. The morphene they gave me didn't help much at all. I asked the nurse. "Aren't you supposed to pass out under extreme pain?" She looked at me & said "Yes, youre just not there yet. I admire your moxy." Now treating w hydrafera blue unaboot. Its been 5 mos since surgery. its finally healing. A nurse comes 2xs wk to remove the bandages. Its a bloody mess. New skin is starting to close around the wound.
Web MD is helpful. But don't use it to self treat or be a stuborn fool thinking your invincible.
I've since googled all my symptoms. Per Web MD I passed away 3 wks ago.🤣
