Sick vid! Great to see a new species too. I’ve caught plenty of those red dogs on the pop. Amazing bi catch when chasing bangas. They fight so hard and look so pretty when u get em to the surface. That blue hole must’ve been full of em. U can see in your rod the exact moment they hit the reef. It’s a gnarly feeling when it happens but even more gnarly when u can get em out too.🤙🤙

I'm happy you took your own advice on the drag !!! Stopping a fish is most important in a rocky/reef area , my one suggestion would be to get just a little heavier rod to allow you keep him up off the danger zone . Peace Cavdog !

I can’t say I know much about fighting huge fish but with Salmon here we tend to run light drag so we can get proper hook set, and then very quickly manage drag and tighten down to put the brakes on. Haven’t lost a lure or a fish in a long time. But you know what you’re doing Cav, I can’t say I’ve caught anything near as big as ya mate. Great vid! Long time fan, keep it fishy my friend.

Absolutly insane action Cavy...really sad coral situation over there also...but still an awesome area where to fish...I often look at the conditions you are fishing over there, flat sea, sun high on the sky...would be impossible to catch anything over here with those conditions, it's so crazy to see that in other area whit a less professional fishing pressure you can still catch so many fish in every time and conditions...really crazy.

Whoever tells you to fish loose drag doesn't know what they are doing. Always set drag to just under the breaking point of the line. And don't whale on the rod when you reel in a fish.
