I was letting my wife use the car and I just happened to stop by my house before I started working and saw the oil all over the driveway. If I hadn't come home when I did my engine would be up with Queen Elizabeth right now 🤣🤣🤣
If you havent done them already, i highly recommend you do the belt guard and the crank bolt lock. My n54 had taken out the valves when the crank bolt came loose and an easy way to prevent that is with vargas's crank seal guard and crank bolt capture. Both of these are extremely important as they can cause catastrophic engine damage + would make for a good video, and informative to anyone who watches your videos and doesnt know about the issues with the n54.

I mean this from the bottom of my heart when I say I really love your content. But from someone who works on 335’s semi frequently and friend to someone who is a encyclopedia of BMW knowledge. Liquimoly 5w-40 and mahle oil filters are your friend. Has kept my friends m and n engines alive beating the crap out of them. Also you might want to look into the crank hub seal shield/saver deal. They aren’t too expensive and will save the N54 from eating the belt like it can do. Ps cold oil rips aren’t the move😂❤
Engine should be fine as long as the red oil light didn't come on. Once that light turns on it means the engine has lost oil pressure and that is when damage will occur.
Shit this is so awesome, wish I was handy like that. My 08 E90 has been standing in my Driveway for almost a year after I bought a new engine and had it installed. I have not been able to start it since. I know it may need reprogramming but no one will come to my house and do the job. The Dealer(stealer) will tow it for me but who knows what they'll do to increase the bill. So I am driving my E36 M3 right now. Not having E90 friends like you sucks here in Miami, FL 🤣

@@BimmerMafia Exactly, I bypassed my oem oil cooler for free by flipping the thermostat on the filter housing and it works just as good as any aftermarket one lol
@@joelmayorgaa that’s actually bad bro. What you did was flip the “valve “ to always be open. So even when you first start your car, that oil takes forever to heat up to proper temp. Never reaching 240 250. 250 is actually where you wanna be when thrashing your engine. Hot oil protects internals. Even those cheap BMS thermostat just keep oil cooler always open. A mosselman is an actual thermostat that closes at low temp. And opens when you need it to. Like a thermostat should.

Replace the belt and put a belt guard while you’re at it. Do not use the belt if it’s drenched in oil
